Abstract

Disclosed is a method for regulating a chemical valve consisting of a porous matrix and of a gel layer which can swell due to the ambient temperature thereof. In a preferred embodiment, said matrix is configured as a microporous membrane whose individual pore or pores is/are produced by etching particle traces, e.g. of heavy ions in said matrix. In the preferred embodiment, the matrix consists of or is lined with a material, whereby said gel layer which can swell can be produced on the surface of said material. The matrix comprising the pore/s is inserted into an electrolyte. A voltage differential in the form of an electric AC or DC current to the electro-thermal or electro-osmotic control of said pore/s is applied to both sides of said pore/s via the two electrolyte areas, whereby the two electrolyte areas of both sides of said matrix are separated from one another and are electrically insulated from one another.
