Die Neuerungen an dem pneumatischen Elevator beziehen sich im wesentlichen auf die Art und Weise der Zuführung des zu hebenden oder fortzubewegenden Stoffs. In jede Kammer reicht ein unten mit erweitertem Mundstück versehenes Rohr BB hinab; die beiden Rohre sind aufserhalb des Gefäfses zu einem Rohr vereinigt. An der Verbindungsstelle der Rohre liegt eine Drehklappe C, welche abwechselnd je eines der Rohre nach unten zu abschliefst. D D sind die von dem Ventilator oder Gebläse kommenden Luftrohre, welche durch Hahn oder Ventil verschliefsbar sind. Der zu hebende Stoff fällt durch das geöffnete Ventil A in die zugehörige Kammer des Gefäfses R, und nachdem A geschlossen, wird der Luftzutritt am Rohr B der Kammer geöffnet. Die gespannte Luft drückt dann das Getreide oder den zu bewegenden Stoff durch das Rohr B aufwärts bezw. in jede andere durch die Lage des Rohrs B bestimmte Richtung. Die beiden Abtheilungen des Gefäfses R arbeiten abwechselnd. Statt der Drehschieber ^i ^ können auch Klappventile oder sonstige Verschlufsyorrichtungen benutzt werden. Abweichend von der in der Patentschrift No. 8314 dargestellten Vorrichtung erfolgt hier die Zuführung des Förderguts nicht stetig durch ein Zuführungsrad, sondern periodisch und direct durch verschliefsbare Oeffnungen im Deckel des Druckgefäfses.Fig. Ι shows the periodically fed device.
