Abstract
In a process to manufacture flexible three-dimensional work-piece clamping or holding fixtures, the fixture profile is modified by surface build-up by additional material. The additional material is applied by laser sintering or laser welding, followed by selective hardening using an energy beam on selected surface zones, causing selective melting.
