Abstract
Verwendung von 1-Aza-3,7-dioxabicylo[3,3,0]octan oder Derivaten hiervon mit aliphatischen Resten zur Behandlung von Infektionen durch parasitische Protozoen bei Zier- und/oder Speisefischen,Use of 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3,3,0] octane or derivatives thereof with aliphatic radicals for the treatment of infections by parasitic protozoa in ornamental and / or edible fish,
Description
2. Auflage, G. Fischer, Stuttgart; B. Mehlhorn, H. Mehlhorn und G. Schmahl 1993: Gesunde Zierfische, Springer Verlag, Heidelberg; P. T. K. Woo 1995: Fish diseases and disorders, Vol. 1, Protozoan and metazoan infections, CAB International, Wallingford, UK; E. Brown 1980: Fish farming handbook, AVI Publishing Company, Westport, USA; W. Schäperklaus 1979: Fischkrankheiten, Bände 1 und 2, Akademie-Verlag, Berlin). Lots Types of parasitic protozoa, in particular from the groups Ciliophora and flagellata are common in fish. They infect as ecto- and endoparasites preferably the skin, the Gills and eyes and can thereby also partially or completely penetrate into the upper layers of the body surface. A strong infestation has often the death of the affected fish (H. Mehlhorn, D. Düwel and W. Raether 1993: Diagnosis and Treatment of Parasitoses of House, Useful and pets. 2nd edition, G. Fischer, Stuttgart; B. Mehlhorn, H. Mehlhorn and G. Schmahl 1993: Healthy ornamental fish, Springer Verlag, Heidelberg; P.T.K. Woo 1995: Fish Diseases and Disturbances, Vol. 1, protozoan and metazoan infections, CAB International, Wallingford, UK; E. Brown 1980: Fish Farming Handbook, AVI Publishing Company, Westport, USA; W. Schäperklaus 1979: fish diseases, volumes 1 and 2, Akademie-Verlag, Berlin). In addition, the parasites at the point of attachment lesions cause the entry ports for other pathogens such as bacteria, Mushrooms and viruses form, which in turn cause lethal illnesses. In dense animal husbandry, z. B. in tight aquariums or at Factory farming in aquaculture and transport of live animals Fishing, can such protozoa quickly over spread the entire stock and destroy it, resulting in large economic Losses in fish farmers, dealers or aquarists leads.
To The state of the art becomes fishes suffering from unicellular parasites are treated with a number of different means. Acquaintances and often for Therapy experiments applied substances are the following: malachite green oxalate, Methylene blue, formalin, hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, chloramine B, quinine, fumagillin, ethacridine lactate and acriflavine.
A. C. Eachus et al. 1990: Preservative for cosmetics and toiletries. Seifen, öle Fette, Wachse 116: 537). Die Chemikalie verhindert das Verderben von Kosmetika durch Bakterien. Nach zur Zeit gültigem Recht in der Europäischen Union darf die Substanz kosmetischen Produkten in Konzentrationen bis zu 1,5% zugesetzt werden.1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octan-5-ethyl is known as a chemical preservative for cosmetic products (A.C. Eachus et al., 1990: Preservative for cosmetics and toiletries. Soaps, oils Fats, waxes 116: 537). The chemical prevents spoilage of cosmetics by bacteria. According to current law in the European Union The substance may be used in concentrations up to 1.5% are added.
größere Mengen an
sicher sterben. The previously known means of controlling parasitic protozoa of fish have several and z. T. serious disadvantages:
The known agents are relatively toxic to fish as well as to the user, for example malachite green oxalate or formalin are suspected in a higher dose than carcinogens. The drugs also kill many of the fish to be treated with only two overdosage. The known agents often have no sufficient effect even in the maximum applicable dose to stop a serious infection and thus avoid deaths in the affected fish. An increase in the dose then inevitably leads to a strong intoxication, which increases the death rate, especially in highly infested animals. The known means must be applied several times. This causes repeated fish stress, especially when the fish have to be taken out of their caging basin for treatment in an external medical bath. The workload is often much higher with multiple treatment of fish than with a one-shot therapy. Especially with multiple treatment accumulate larger amounts of residues of the funds in the fish. Residues of the medicinal products are harmful and undesirable not only for edible fish. Some chemicals can suppress the immune system and make fish more susceptible to other infectious diseases. Some of the known agents are used in oral administration. It is disadvantageous that seriously ill fish can no longer eat and therefore can not absorb the drugs, so die safely.
One decisive disadvantage of the known agent malachite green oxalate is that only small amounts of malachite green oxalate slowly over the body surface in the Fish penetrate, causing z. B. only after a relatively long time Drug level in the skin is achieved, which is to kill the dangerous pathogen Ichthyophthirius multifiliis is required.
It There is therefore a strong need for a fast-acting and well tolerated Means against parasitic protozoa of fish.
- 1. The agent used in the invention acts against parasitic protozoa, which can penetrate quickly into the skin of the fish. 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-5-ethyl is amphiphilic and can solubilize water-insoluble drugs such as malachite green base in water. 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-5-ethyl also acts as a carrier that accelerates the penetration of substances such as malachite green into the skin of the fish.
- 2. 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-5-ethyl and complexes of 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-5-ethyl with malachite green base are rapidly dissociated from unicellular parasites added.
- 3. The agent used in the invention has a surprisingly wide spectrum of activity and acts on virtually all parasitic Ciliophora, and on flagellates and fungi on the body surface of fish. On flagellates and ciliates, 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-5-ethyl acts as a killer even without the addition of malachite green base. Due to its antibacterial properties, secondary infections of fish by bacteria are prevented.
- 4. The agent used in the invention has an extremely high efficiency. In infections with Ichthyophthirius multifiliis more than 90% of the pathogens are killed after one day of treatment.
- 5. It works with a single application, ie no active ingredient has to be added. The agent used in the invention, in particular the combination of 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-5-ethyl with Malchitgrünbase eliminated with a single treatment of the fish, the pathogens.
- 6. It is applicable in very low dose.
- 7. It is easily applicable because the drug combination converts the water-insoluble malachite green base into a water-soluble complex that can be easily dispersed in the water.
- 8. The drug complex is much more stable to light than conventional malachite green oxalate because 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-5-ethyl converts the photosensitive malachite green into a near colorless complex. The combination preparation can therefore be used successfully in illuminated aquariums or sunlit ponds.
- 9. At the low dose to be applied, the agent used in the present invention has a very low toxicity to fish. Also, fish species that are sensitive to chemicals, such as small salmon or catfish, can be treated.
- 10. It does not harm any plants or multicellular animals in the aquarium or pond at the dose to be applied and does not alter the chemical quality of the water, e.g. B. the pH.
- 11. The agent used according to the invention, if desired after successful therapy, can easily be removed again from the water by filtering the water over activated carbon.

The parasitic protozoa are located in / on the skin, the fins the gills and eyes. The used according to the invention Means can be easily prepared, for.
