An einer Stirnseite der Brennkraftmaschine ist ein wasserführendes Verteilerrohr 2 befestigt, das zur Kühlmittelversorgung für die im Kurbelgehäuse sowie im Zylinderkopf integrierten Wasserkanäle vorgesehen ist. Die Kühlwasserversorgung des V8-Motors ist in der DE 100 21 525 A1 näher dargestellt und beschrieben, auf deren Offenbarungsgehalt in diesem Zusammenhang Bezug genommen wird. Das u- förmig gebogene Verteilerrohr 2 weist vier Wasseranschlüsse 4 bis 10 auf, bei denen die Anschlüsse 8 und 10 für die Kühlwasserversorgung der beiden Zylinderköpfe und die Anschlüsse 4 und 6 für die Kühlwasserversorgung der im Kurbelgehäuse integrierten Zylinderlaufbuchsen vorgesehen sind. Das Verteilerrohr 2 weist eine zentrale Öffnung 12 auf, über die der von einer Wasserpumpe (nicht dargestellt) erzeugte Wasservolumenstrom im Verteilerrohr 2 verteilt wird. Das als Gussteil ausgebildete Verteilerrohr 2 weist an seinen beiden bogenförmig ausgebildeten Enden zwei einteilig mit dem Verteilerrohr 2 verbundene Anschlussstutzen 14 und 16 auf, in denen ein zu einer Sekundärluft Sammelleitung gehörender Kanalabschnitt 18 integriert ist. Die beiden Anschlussstutzen 14 und 16 weisen eine Flanschfläche 20 und 22 auf, an denen jeweils ein den Sekundärluftstrom steuerndes Ventil, im folgenden als Sekundärluftventil 24 und 26 bezeichnet, befestigt ist. Die Sekundärluftventile 24, 26 sind über zwei externe Schlauchleitungen 28 und 30 mit jeweils einem Sekundärluftgebläse 32 und 34 verbunden.
