Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a welding torch according to the preamble of claim 1.
The economical MIG / MAG narrow gap welding has so far not essential practical application, since there are no robust and on the market proven welding torches in practice. This resulted in: one extensive literature research, a visit to the welding fair and Cutting in Essen, September 2001 and a number of industrial contacts in Framework of advisory activities.
Nachteile des Standes der TechnikDisadvantages of the prior art
- - Risk of binding errors occurring in the seam flank area, since the distance between the arc and the seam flank can fluctuate.
- - Considerable savings in production costs as a result of the change from conventional seam preparation (V seam, tulip seam) to narrow gaps in the current welding equipment and the workpiece thicknesses in question (lower range, e.g. from 30 mm) because of the relatively wide welding torch and therefore the wider one required Barely given column.
The practical introduction of MIG / MAG narrow gap welding is carried out by the narrow, protruding into the narrow gap and along the Seam flank on which welding is currently being carried out by means of a roller Welding torch. This ensures that the arc always melts the seam flank sufficiently and it turns into a cheap one Caterpillar training can come. The aim is to penetrate deep into the Seam flank of at least 0.25 mm. The gap is chosen so narrow that only per layer one after the other on the left and then on the right Seam flank is welded. For welding the root position and The welding torch can be compensated in the center of the gap without Position the roller contact to the seam flank.
Introduction of a newly developed MIG / MAG narrow-gap welding torch, which enables narrow-gap welding with the smallest possible gap width on various components (longitudinal seams, circular seams) with wall thicknesses from approx 30 mm to weld without risk of binding errors. To bigger ones too Wall thicknesses, e.g. B. to be able to weld 100 mm and more, the The length of the welding torch can be adjusted accordingly.
Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention
With the introduction of the new welding torch, the acceptance of the MIG / MAG narrow gap welding promoted. By reducing the The weld filler material consumption and the Manufacturing time greatly reduced. This increases the economy of the Welding and thus competitiveness. It can go anywhere Industry, medium-sized businesses and handicrafts can be used to advantage where thicker workpieces must be welded, e.g. B. in apparatus, plant and steel construction.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings 1 to 3 and described in more detail below. The drawings show the structure and the principle of operation of the narrow welding torch, which protrudes deep into the narrow seam (gap) and enables welding of the individual beads from bottom to top (multi-layer technology or multi-bead technology). The welding torch is constructed in two parts, one part is live ( 1 ) and another part is not live ( 2 ). Both parts are electrically isolated from each other ( 8 , 9 , 11 , 15 ). The welding torch parts, part ( 1 ) and part ( 2 ) consist of different copper alloys with sufficient electrical conductivity ( 1 ) or with appropriate strength ( 2 ). Welding torch part ( 2 ) is connected to the welding torch part ( 1 ) via two bolts ( 5 ) which slide in insulating bushes ( 15 ) and thus prevent current transfer. Two spiral springs ( 18 ) with the appropriate spring force ensure that both welding torch parts are arranged parallel to each other in the operating state and that the ceramic contact block ( 11 ) presses on the ceramic to ensure a safe current transfer from the current contact piece ( 10 ) to the wire electrode ( 22 ). The necessary contact pressure is transmitted via the adjuster nut (13) which is set via the screw (6), which is electrically insulated (15) connected to the part of the welding torch (1). Both partial welding torches are connected in the lower area via two interlocking sliding shoes ( 8 , 9 ), which ensures a precise position of the two welding torch parts relative to one another. The sliding block ( 9 ) attached to the live partial welding torch ( 1 ) is made of an insulating material, see section EF, drawing 1 and 2. The welding current flows through the power connection (4, see drawing 2), partial welding sword ( 1 ), Current contact piece ( 10 ), wire electrode ( 22 ) and arc ( 23 ) to the workpiece ( 21 ). The wire electrode ( 22 ) is guided over three spacers ( 7 ) and the slide shoe ( 9 ). These consist of a heat-resistant plastic and are current-insulating. The exchangeable current contact piece ( 10 ) consists of a low-abrasion copper alloy to ensure a low-loss current transfer and is provided with a trapezoidal longitudinal groove to maintain a uniform wire electrode distance from the seam flank (see drawings 1 and 2, section GH). The welding torch is guided in the narrow gap ( 24 ) along the seam flank with the help of a roller ( 14 ). The welding torch is thus in contact with the seam flank over which this roll is being welded, e.g. B. Position 25 , welding bead R2 (see drawing 1). For welding on the opposite flank, the welding torch is swiveled to the other seam flank, position 26 , welding bead R3. The welding sword rolls along the seam flank with the help of the roller ( 14 ). The transition from one seam flank to the other can take place after a complete revolution, e.g. B. with a pipe seam, without interruption. The first welding bead, position 27 , R1 (root position) and any compensating beads, can be welded in the center position of the welding torch, whereby the roll has no contact with the seam flank. The welding torch is fastened to a chassis ( 28 ) via a swivel joint ( 3 ) and a device ( 29 ). Movement axes: x welding direction, y transverse infeed and z height adjustment. The entire welding torch can be swiveled slightly in the swivel joint ( 3 ) transversely to the welding direction, so that there is contact with the seam flank in the lower area via the roll. The welding torch is moved laterally with the handle ( 33 ) via the manual actuation of the spindle ( 30 ). The rotary movement of the spindle ( 30 ) causes a slight rotation in the swivel joint ( 3 ) via a multi-start thread ( 34 ). The spindle ( 30 ) experiences a slight inclination in the device ( 29 ) via sliding shoes. The spiral springs ( 31 , 32 ) enable the welding torch to be operated without play and thus safely.
Setting options: handle position 1 : welding torch is in the middle position and welds the root position or leveling beads, handle position position 2 : welding torch is inclined to the left seam flank and welds bead 2 , handle position position 3 : welding torch is inclined to the right seam flank and welds bead 3 . The shielding gas for welding is fed directly to the welding point via a flat pipe ( 16 ). This prevents air from entering the arc area and prevents the formation of pores in the weld metal. The from both sides with z. B. thin plastic plates (0.5 mm thick) laterally insulated current carrying sword ( 1 ), the insulation is not included in the drawing, is cooled with water ( 17 ). This makes it possible to work with higher currents. The temperature of the current contact piece ( 10 ) is detected and displayed using a thermocouple ( 19 ). With an undisturbed welding process, the temperature of the current contact piece remains almost constant. If the temperature rises, it is an indication that the current contact piece is dirty and / or worn and must be replaced. This is an additional contribution to quality assurance when welding. When welding in the upper seam area (residual height approx. 10 mm), the roll is no longer in contact with the seam flank. Here the welding torch can be positioned freely and the welding is done fully automatically without fear of binding errors. For the workflow, it is advantageous if the vertical positioning of the welding torch (z direction) with a coupling coupled to the welding torch, e.g. B. electrically / mechanically acting height control. Such facilities are available on the market. Height control is not included in drawings 1 to 3.
