Hierfür gibt es den althergebrachten Büstenhalter, der am Rücken der Trägerin geschlossen wird und durch Träger, ggf. auch ohne Träger, gehalten wird. Für diesen BH-Typ benötigt die Trägerin den genauen Umfang der Brust sowie den Brustunterumfang, um die korrekte Größe zu finden und ein annehmbares Tragefühl zu erreichen. Zusätzlich zu diesem BH-Typ gibt es BHs, die meist durch eine Silikonschicht direkt an der Brust befestigt werden. Bei diesem Typ gibt es weder Träger noch einen Verschluss. Sie werden direkt auf der Brust befestigt, um einen Sichtschutz auf die Brust zu gewähren. Der im Patentanspruch 1 angegebenen Erfindung liegt das Problem zu Grunde, keinen BH tragen zu wollen, aber dennoch einen Blickschutz auf die Brust zu erreichen. Das Tragen des Büstenhalters wird zunehmend als unangenehm empfunden und ist zusätzlich nicht für jede Kleidung geeignet, da Teile wie Verschluss oder/und Träger sichtbar sind. Die Herausforderung war etwas zu finden, was den Vorteil eines Büstenhalters bietet, den Blickschutz, ohne jedoch einen tragen zu müssen. Ferner haben die Polster den Vorteil, dass sie bei Verrutschen des Kleidungsstücks im Gegensatz zu herkömmlichen Büstenhaltern nicht sichtbar werden.
Weitere Vorteile sind das Nichterkennen der Brustform durch die neutrale Form der anliegenden Polster sowie die einfache Mitnahme und Wiederverwendung.
Ferner wählt die Trägerin die Form und Größe des Büstenhalter-Polsters unabhängig von ihrem Brust- und Brustunterumfang.
