Abstract
Use of a hand dishwashing composition comprising: at least one surfactant, characterized in that the composition further comprises at least one inorganic salt as an additive, and the composition is used at a temperature of at most 10°C.
Description
Dishwashing detergents, in particular liquid dishwashing detergents for the manual cleaning of dishes, so-called hand dishwashing compositions, are known. Non-viscous hand dishwashing compositions are perceived by consumers as being of lower quality and viscosity is therefore an important quality criterion for hand dishwashing compositions.
So-called thickeners are used in hand dishwashing compositions to set suitable viscosity values. These are usually oligo- or polysaccharides. Typically, xanthan gum is used.
However, it has now been found that viscosity-controlled hand dishwashing detergents with conventional thickeners sometimes tend to become cloudy. This is undesirable since hand dishwashing detergents that are cloudy are considered to be of inferior quality.
The object on which the present invention is based is therefore to provide technical solutions for hand dishwashing compositions which, on the one hand, are perceived by the consumer as being of high quality and, on the other hand, are also sufficiently stable without turbidity occurring.
- at least one surfactant
- characterized in that the composition further
- comprises at least one inorganic salt as an additive, wherein
- the composition is used at a temperature not exceeding 10°C.
It was surprisingly found that although known hand dishwashing detergents do not have any turbidity at room temperature, the customary thickeners in hand dishwashing compositions cause turbidity when used at lower temperatures and the stability of the composition decreases.
In contrast, the hand dishwashing detergents according to the invention show no turbidity, even when they are used at relatively low temperatures.
Use at relatively low temperatures, ie in particular temperatures below 10° C., is therefore decisive for the hand dishwashing detergents according to the invention. The invention is thus based on viscosity stabilization at lower temperatures, which, unlike what is otherwise customary, is not achieved by means of thickeners but by the use of inorganic salts.
According to the invention, use at below 10° C., preferably below 5° C., also includes storage and transport. Preference is given to use at the temperatures mentioned for a period of at least 1 hour, more preferably at least 5 hours, more preferably at least 1 day. According to these embodiments, the composition is thus exposed to a temperature of at most 10° C., preferably at most 5° C., for the respective periods of time.
In particular, a use is described in which the temperature of the composition is reduced to below 10°C, in particular at most 8°C, in particular at most 5°C.

"At least one surfactant" therefore means, for example, that only one type of surfactant compound or several different types of surfactant compounds can be included, without providing information about the amount of the individual compounds.
Unless otherwise stated, all amounts specified in connection with the dishwashing detergents described herein relate to % by weight, based in each case on the total weight of the dishwashing detergent. Furthermore, such quantitative information that relates to at least one component always relates to the total amount of this type of component that is contained in the dishwashing detergent, unless explicitly stated otherwise. This means that such amounts, for example in connection with “at least one surfactant”, relate to the total amount of surfactants contained in the dishwashing detergent, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
So steht beispielsweise „99%“ für „99,0%“.Numerical values given herein without decimal places refer to the full stated value with one decimal place. For example, "99%" means "99.0%".
The expression “approximately” or “approximately” in connection with a numerical value refers to a variance of ±10% based on the specified numerical value, preferably ±5%, particularly preferably ±1%.
The expression "substantially free from" means that the respective compound can in principle be present, but is then present in an amount that does not impair the function of the other components. In the context of the present invention, the property “substantially free from” of a specific compound is therefore preferably a total weight of less than 0.1% by weight, more preferably less than 0.001% by weight, in particular free of this, based on the total weight of dishwashing detergent.

In various embodiments, the dishwashing detergents described herein can also contain at least one enzyme, preferably a protease. The proteases used are preferably alkaline serine proteases. They act as non-specific endopeptidases, which means that they hydrolyze any acid amide bonds that are inside peptides or proteins, thereby breaking down protein-containing soiling on the items to be cleaned. Their optimum pH is usually in the clearly alkaline range.
In the dishwashing detergents described herein, the enzymes to be used can also be formulated together with accompanying substances, for example from fermentation. In liquid compositions, the enzymes are preferably used as enzyme liquid formulation(s).
As a rule, the proteases are not provided in the form of the pure protein but rather in the form of stabilized preparations that can be stored and transported. These ready-made preparations include, for example, the solid preparations obtained by granulation, extrusion or lyophilization or, particularly in the case of liquid or gel-like preparations, solutions of the enzymes, advantageously as concentrated as possible, low in water and/or mixed with stabilizers or other auxiliaries.
Alternatively, the enzymes can be encapsulated for both the solid and the liquid dosage form, for example by spray drying or extrusion of the enzyme solution together with a preferably natural polymer, or in the form of capsules, for example those in which the enzymes are enclosed as in a set gel or in those of the core-shell type, in which an enzyme-containing core is coated with a water, air and/or chemical impermeable protective layer. Additional active substances, for example stabilizers, emulsifiers, pigments, bleaching agents or dyes, can also be applied in superimposed layers. Such capsules are applied by methods known per se, for example by shaking or rolling granulation or in fluid-bed processes. Advantageously, such granules, for example due to the application of polymeric film formers, produce little dust and are stable in storage due to the coating.
Furthermore, it is possible to formulate two or more enzymes together, so that a single granulate has several enzyme activities.

In various embodiments, the enzyme(s) may be pre-formulated with enzyme stabilizers in an enzyme composition. Chem. Soc. 88, 24 (1966), S. 5890-5913).The protein concentration can be determined using known methods, for example the BCA method (bicinchoninic acid; 2,2'-biquinolyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid) or the Biuret method. In this regard, the active protein concentration is determined via a titration of the active centers using a suitable irreversible inhibitor (for proteases, for example, phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride (PMSF)) and determination of the residual activity (cf. M. Bender et al., J. Am. Chem. Soc. 88 , 24 (1966), pp. 5890-5913).

Bespielzusammensetzungen:example compositions:
The information corresponds to the proportion of active substance in the composition.
All data are given as % by weight in relation to the total composition (active substance content). The viscosity is measured using a rotational rheometer, plate-cone system d=4 cm, 1°, gap=36 μm, shear rate range 0.01-1000 s-1 (up & down), at T=20° C. and shear rate of 1 s -1 determined.
Stabilitätswerte wurden wie folgt bewertet: schlecht (-), zufriedenstellend (o), gut (+).Stability values were rated as follows: poor (-), satisfactory (○), good (+).
Comparative example C1 surprisingly shows that customary thickeners (here xanthan gum) in hand dishwashing compositions, even in relatively small amounts, lead to turbidity occurring at relatively low temperatures. The stability of the composition is thus considerably reduced. This phenomenon does not occur at room temperature.
The hand dishwashing detergents E1 to E6 according to the invention are viscosity-regulated compositions which, however, show no turbidity at relatively low temperatures. Particularly good stabilization can be achieved with sodium acetate, sodium chloride, sodium sulfate and ammonium chloride (E2, E4, E5 and E6).
Of these, sodium chloride and sodium acetate (E2 and E4) are particularly preferred because they allow stabilization within the preferred viscosity range of 1000 to 3000 mPas. In particular, compositions within the specified viscosity range are viewed by the consumer as high-quality compositions and are easy to process and portion during manufacture.
