Abstract

The subject matter of the invention is a pallet skid, in particular a monodirectional pallet skid, for attachment to piece goods to be transported and/or stored. Creating a pallet runner that can be produced with little material, that is easy to manufacture and that can be attached to the piece of goods at the desired position is achieved by a supporting surface (12) made of corrugated cardboard for attachment to an underside of the piece of goods, by a side strip (14) held on the supporting surface (12) for contact with a side wall of the cargo and by at least one foot (16) designed as a hollow body, the at least one foot (16) being attached to an underside of the supporting surface (12).

Description

The present invention relates to a pallet skid for attachment to a piece of goods to be transported and/or stored according to the preamble of claim 1.

General cargo is an object that can be transported without any additional transport container, such as a motor, a washing machine, a piece of furniture and the like or an outer packaging with objects contained therein (objects packed in a box or carton).

From the DE 296 06 277 U1 a pallet deck is known which comprises a light board made of corrugated cardboard for receiving the piece goods and three pallet runners made of corrugated board attached to the light board, each pallet runner being designed as a hollow square tube. It is also described that, for example, two pallet skids can be attached directly to the piece goods ( 19 ). At least one additional support element is provided in the pallet runner to increase the supporting structure. The production of such a pallet runner with an internal support element is very complex and requires a lot of material. In addition, it is difficult to attach the pallet runners in the desired position either on the lightweight panel or directly on the piece goods.

Proceeding from this, the object of the present invention is to create a pallet skid of the type mentioned at the outset that can be produced with little material, that is easy to produce and that can be attached to the piece goods at the desired position.

As a technical solution to this problem, a pallet skid of the type mentioned with the features of claim 1 is proposed according to the invention. Advantageous further developments of this pallet runner can be found in the dependent claims.

Depending on the application, the pallet skid according to the invention can either have a single base, have two bases that are attached at a distance from one another, or have three or more bases. In the event that the pallet skid has three or more feet and that these feet are attached in a line aligned on the supporting surface, one speaks of a monodirectional pallet skid.

A pallet runner designed according to this technical teaching has the advantage that it can easily be attached to the piece goods in the desired position.

A first pallet skid, designed as a monodirectional pallet skid, can be placed on a first, lower edge of the piece goods in such a way that an underside of the piece goods rests on the supporting surface in the edge area, while at the same time the side rail comes to rest on a side wall of the piece goods, as is shown in 4 is shown. On the opposite side of the piece goods, a second monodirectional pallet skid is placed on a second edge in an analogous manner, so that the two monodirectional pallet skids jointly carry the piece goods. The same applies to pallet skids with two feet.

In another embodiment, the pallet skid has only a single base. In this case, four pallet skids are attached to the four corners of the cargo, with the cargo resting on the respective support surface and with the side rail of each pallet skid coming to rest on a side wall of the cargo.

In a further embodiment, at least one pallet skid with two feet or a monodirectional pallet skid is used on one side of the unit load, while two or more pallet skids with a single foot are used on the other side. Other mixed forms are also conceivable.

A major advantage is that the pallet runner can be attached to the edge of the unit load by the side rail in a defined position and is held in this position at the edge of the unit load, with corresponding pallet runners being provided both on the right and on the left edge of the unit load are. On the one hand, this ensures that the feet have the greatest possible distance from each other in order to achieve a good stand and, on the other hand, it ensures that the pallet runners cannot slip inwards towards the other pallet runner. Such a fixed positioning and fixing of the pallet skids makes it possible to design the supporting surface just wide enough for the feet to be attached to it, regardless of the size of the piece goods. For the area between the two pallet runners, the supporting surface is not necessary, which leads to a large saving in material and to a simplification of production.

Another advantage is that by attaching the pallet skids to the edge of the piece goods, the pallet does not protrude, as is often the case with conventional Euro pallets. This precise alignment of the two pallet skids on the general cargo means that there is less floor space in the transporter or in the warehouse required, which leads to better utilization of transport or storage capacities.

Yet another advantage is that the comparatively small pallet skids can be stored and transported even in the smallest of spaces, so that the pallet skids can be shipped and stored inexpensively.

Another advantage is that the pallet skid according to the invention, in particular the monodirectional pallet skid, can be used with piece goods of different sizes and still does not protrude over the piece goods, so that this pallet skid can be manufactured in large quantities, which also reduces the production costs and storage costs .

In a preferred embodiment, the side rail and deck are integrally formed from a piece of corrugated cardboard. This has the advantage that this simplifies production and that the side rail is reliably held on the wing. A double-walled corrugated cardboard, in particular a double-walled strong corrugated cardboard, is preferably used for this purpose, which enables a higher carrying capacity than a simple corrugated cardboard.

In a preferred development, a predetermined buckling line is formed between the wing and the side rail, preferably on the side of the wing and the side rail facing the cargo, so that the side rail is held on the support rail so that it can pivot upwards. This has the advantage that the side rail can be placed against the side wall of the piece goods in a simple manner.

In another preferred embodiment, the side rail extends at least 40% of the length of the wing. This has the advantage that a further saving in material is thereby achieved and that the pallet runner can nevertheless be easily attached to the piece goods and is reliably held on the piece goods. In alternative embodiments, the side rail extends over 60% or 100% of the length of the wing.

In a further, preferred embodiment, a stabilizing layer made of corrugated cardboard is attached to the underside of the supporting surface formed from corrugated cardboard. This has the advantage that the carrying capacity of the wing is significantly increased.

A further increase in the carrying capacity of the wing made of corrugated cardboard is achieved if the stabilizing layer made of corrugated cardboard is cross-glued to the wing. The corrugation of the stabilization layer is between 45° and 135°, preferably 90°, offset to the corrugation of the wing.

A further increase in the load-bearing capacity is achieved if the supporting surface and/or the stabilizing layer is made of double-walled corrugated cardboard, in particular double-walled heavy-duty corrugated cardboard.

In another preferred embodiment, the base, which is designed as a hollow body, is fastened with its end face to the supporting surface. This base, which is designed as a cylinder, square tube or the like, for example, can absorb very high forces in this way and thus significantly increases the load capacity of the pallet runner.

In a further, preferred embodiment, the base is formed from a sleeve cardboard with a wall thickness of 2 mm to 8 mm, preferably 5 mm. This core board is made of hard paper (also called solid cardboard) and has a high load capacity due to its compact material. It has been found that when using two pallet runners, each with three feet made of cardboard with a wall thickness of 5 mm, a unit load weighing 1000 kg can be transported.

In yet another embodiment, the base designed as a hollow body has a circular or at least triangular, preferably square, cross section. In the case of a square base, one corner is advantageously directed outwards, as in 5 evident. This has the advantage that the fork of a fork lifter is guided from the base into an area between two adjacent bases. As a result, this makes it much easier to pick up the piece goods using a forklift.

In the 1 until 4 a first embodiment of a pallet skid according to the invention is shown, which is designed as a monodirectional pallet skid, as in particular 4 can be seen. This pallet skid 10 has a supporting surface 12 , a side rail 14 adjoining the supporting surface 12 and a base 16 , with the side rail 14 extending over the entire length of the supporting surface 12 . The wing 12 and the side rail 14 are formed from a single piece of double-wall corrugated cardboard, with a predetermined crease line 18 being formed between the wing 12 and the side rail 14 .

A double-walled corrugated board consists of three layers of cardboard, with a layer of corrugated cardboard being provided between each two adjacent layers of cardboard. The side rail 14 can be bent upwards in a simple manner at this predetermined fold line 18 and can accordingly be placed against a side wall of the piece goods, as will be described in more detail below.

A stabilizing layer 20 made of corrugated cardboard is cross-glued to an underside of the wing 12 , that is, in this embodiment the corrugation direction of the wing 12 is offset by 90° to the corrugation direction of the stabilizing layer 20 . In this embodiment according to 1 until 4 Both the carrier layer 12 and the side bar 14 and the stabilization layer 20 are formed from a double-walled corrugated cardboard.

A double-sided adhesive tape 22 is provided on an upper side of the supporting surface 12, which faces the piece goods, and on an upper side of the side rail 14, with which the pallet skid 10 can be glued to the piece goods.

On the underside of the wing 12 , three feet 16 designed as hollow bodies are attached to the wing 12 at a distance from one another. Each of these feet 16 has a square cross-section and is formed from a sleeve cardboard with a wall thickness of 5 mm. The front side of the base 16 extends into a recess in the stabilization layer 20 and is glued to the supporting surface 12 and to the stabilization layer 20 on the front side.

In 5 is a typical application for the pallet skid 10 according to 1 until 4 shown. In this embodiment, two structurally identical, monodirectional pallet skids 10 are attached to a piece of goods 24, with each of the pallet skids being attached to opposite edges of the piece of goods. In this case, the item rests on an upper side of the supporting surface 12, while the side rail 14 rests against a side wall of the item. Both the wing 12 and the side rail 14 are glued to the piece goods 24 via the double-sided adhesive tape 22 .
