Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing an ointment, in particular a skin care ointment, based on herbs. Essential to the invention, a herbal tincture is produced with several herbs and a solvent and the herbal tincture is added to an ointment base and the ointment base with the herbal tincture is heated to a temperature of at least 100 °C to enrich the herbal tincture components of the herbs in the ointment base.
The invention also relates to an ointment produced using the method and specifically to an ointment, in particular a skin care ointment, based on herbs, which consists of cosmetic milking fat as the ointment basis and alcoholic extracts from 20 starting materials in a defined dosage.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing an ointment, in particular a skin care ointment, based on herbs according to the preamble of patent claim 1. The invention also relates to an ointment produced using the method according to patent claim 10 and an ointment according to patent claim 11. The ointment is in particular a skin care ointment.

Such an ointment has an ointment base and several added substances with medicinal or cosmetic effects. After the ointment has been applied to the skin, the added substances penetrate the skin alone or, depending on the choice of ointment base, together with the ointment base. Known ointment bases are waxes, fats and hydrogels.

Ointments are known in which the medicinally active added substances are used to treat psoriasis or psoriasis. The medicinally active substances here are in particular chemically produced substances such as, for example, cortisone preparations, betamethasone, clobetasone, calcipotriol or dittranol. As alternatives or supplements to the chemically produced substances, natural substances such as plant extracts, in particular berberine, from the natural mahonia (Mahonia aquifolium) or juniper tar (Pix juniperi) are known as additives to ointments used to treat psoriasis. This does not result in permanent healing. The effect of these natural substances often only lasts for a very short period of time.

A dermatological ointment that is supposed to curb the growth of eczema on dry skin, relieve dermatological tension and develop healing effects without triggering an allergic reaction is out DE 20 2008 011 216 U1 known.

AT 505 539 B1 discloses a cosmetic care ointment containing a mixture of herbal extracts and a method for the production thereof. First, herbal extracts are produced by placing herbs in a solvent containing between 20 and 80 percent by volume ethanol at 40 °C to 50 °C for four to five hours. The herbal extracts are added to an ointment base at room temperature and stirred together with the ointment base until a homogeneous mass has formed.

The invention is based on the problem of specifying a method for producing an ointment and the ointment produced therewith, the ointment showing a long-lasting effect against psoriasis.

The invention solves this problem with a method for producing an ointment according to patent claim 1 and with an ointment produced with the method according to patent claim 10 and with an ointment according to patent claim 11. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.

In a method for producing an ointment, in particular a skin care ointment, based on herbs, it is essential to the invention that a herbal tincture is produced with several herbs and a solvent, that the herbal tincture is added to an ointment base and that, in order to enrich the components of the herbal tincture dissolved in the herbal tincture Herbs in the ointment base the ointment base with the herbal tincture is heated to a temperature of at least 100 °C.

It has been shown that ingredients that are mainly from herbs and that are effective for the treatment of psoriasis are enriched in the ointment particularly advantageously and evenly with this method. The invention uses the herbal tincture for this instead of an herbal extract. The solvent is not evaporated for the production of the herbal tincture as it is for the production of an herbal extract. By heating the ointment base with the herbal tincture to at least 100 °C, the extracts dissolved in the herbal tincture are advantageously and particularly evenly transferred into the ointment base, while the solvent evaporates.

It is preferably provided that the temperature of the heated ointment base with the herbal tincture is kept at at least 100° C. for a period of five to fifteen minutes and then the ointment base with the herbal components enriched therein is cooled below 100° C. and further. The cooled ointment base with the enriched components of the herbs then forms the ointment.

The herbal tincture is either prepared by adding a mixture of all the herbs and any other starting materials to the solvent, or by adding the herbs and other starting materials separately or grouped in smaller groups to samples of the solvent and then adding the herbal tincture by mixing the samples with the components of the herbs dissolved in them. The herbs are in particular in dried form.

It is preferably provided that extracts are dissolved out of the herbs by means of the solvent for a period of 10 to 15 days and converted into at least one solution with the solvent and that the at least one solution with the remaining solid components of the herbs is strained and the herbal tincture is poured out the at least one solution with the extracts dissolved therein is obtained.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the solvent contains at least 40 percent by volume alcohol, preferably at least 60 percent by volume alcohol. The solvent preferably contains at most 80 percent by volume of alcohol. The alcohol is in particular ethanol.

It has been found practical for the solvent to be stirred several times with the particular herb or herbs to aid in dissolving the extracts from that herb or herbs.

Various plant, animal or synthetic waxes, fats, hydrogels and oils are known in principle to the person skilled in the art as an ointment base. It is preferably provided that the ointment base is cosmetic milking fat. Cosmetic milking grease is a paraffin-based care cream that must be free from harmful substances. However, it has been shown that milking fat in combination with components of herbs enriched therein, in particular with the herbal tincture provided according to the invention, has a particularly advantageous effect on psoriasis.

The components of the herbs dissolved in the herbal tincture must be transferred to the ointment base. For this purpose, it is preferably provided that first the ointment base is liquefied, in particular by heating to a temperature between 38° C. and 60° C., and then the herbal tincture is added to the liquefied ointment base.

It is advantageous here if the liquefied ointment base is stirred several times with the herbal tincture to support the formation of an intensive connection between the ointment base and the herbal tincture. In particular, it is provided that the cooling ointment base with the components of the herbal tincture over a period of 1.5 to 2.5 hours, in particular about 2 hours, at intervals of 10 to 20 minutes, in particular about 15 minutes, again and again is stirred. The cooled ointment then rests for at least 2 days before the first application. After these 2 days, a quality control can be carried out.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the herbal tincture is added to the ointment base in a ratio of 80 ml to 120 ml, in particular about 100 ml, herbal tincture to 1.00 kg ointment base.

Preferably, it is further provided that the herbal tincture is produced with a ratio of 4.0 g to 5.5 g, in particular 4.7 g to 4.8 g, of herbs to 100 ml of solvent.

A large number of herbs 1, in particular 20 starting materials with the herbs 1 and other starting materials, are added to a solvent 2 with a proportion of 40 to 80 percent by volume ethanol, so that a mixture 3 is obtained. Cosmetic milking fat as an ointment base 7 is heated to a temperature in the range from 38°C to 60°C. The herbal tincture 6 is then added to the heated ointment base 7 and an ointment mixture 8 is obtained. This ointment mixture 8 is heated to a temperature of at least 100° C. for a period of 5 minutes to 15 minutes. The mixture then cools down to form the ointment 9 .
