Die Erfindung baut auf der gattungsgemäßen Gesichtsschutzmaske dadurch auf, dass eine Verbindungskomponente ein elastisch dehnbarer Ring ist. Die Bänder, welche herkömmlich hinter den Ohren liegen und dort auch nach wie vor liegen können, sind mit einer zusätzlichen Verbindungskomponente verbunden. Zieht man die Gesichtsschutzmaske, also insbesondere deren Abdeckkomponente, von Mund und Nase nach unten, so können nachfolgend oder gleichzeitig die Bänder von den Ohren des Trägers entfernt werden.
