Description

The invention relates to a child seat pad for a child seat arranged in a motor vehicle for putting down children's legs and / or for putting down children's feet according to the preamble of claim 1.

It is known from the prior art that child restraint systems, in particular child seats, can lead to pressure points on the thighs of children. This occurs in particular on longer car journeys, where the children can be safely placed in child restraint systems. In addition, such a sitting position for a long time is clearly disadvantageous for the posture and the back muscles, since the feet hang freely in the air.

In this context, describes the DE 20 103 931 U1 a footrest for children on car seats and chairs. For this purpose, a seat cover is disclosed which is placed directly on the seat surface of a booster seat and is releasably fixed to it. In addition, this seat cover has a suspended footrest, which has to be adapted to the child's leg length in a complex manner by means of a strap adjustment. That in the DE 20 103 931 U1 However, the system described proves to be extremely disadvantageous in terms of safety, since the seat support is arranged directly on the seat surface. In the event of an accident, i.e. when impulses are applied for a short time, there is a risk that the child will unintentionally slip on the additional seat cover and be injured. In addition, the complex assembly of the belt, in particular the foot support, is time-consuming and imprecise. Due to the two straps to be adjusted, a highly accurate adjustment is always necessary for a physiologically harmless sitting position, so that the footrest attached to the straps is always aligned horizontally. If, on the other hand, the length of the straps is set differently, the foot support itself is also in an inclined position, which leads to additional postural damage or tension during long journeys.

The US 6,796,606 B2 discloses a child seat pad, which is designed as a seat protector, which protects the vehicle interior, in particular car seats as well as the footwell adjacent to the car seats, from objects, leftovers and the like that are thrown down or spilled by a child strapped in a child seat. A circumferential edge of at least 1 inch is formed on the sides of the base in order to also retain liquids, among other things. The child seat pad is made of plastic, which always retains its shape due to a certain inherent rigidity of the material used.

WO 2017/078 313 A1 describes a footrest for a child seat and comprises a seat support section, a foot support section and a seat attachment section. The seat support section is supported on a child seat or a vehicle seat. Coupled to this is the foot support section, which rotates on the seat support section, so that a child who is sitting in the child seat can place his or her feet on the foot support section. The seat attachment section is connected to the seat support section or the foot support section and attaches the seat support section to the child seat or vehicle seat. The length is adapted in accordance with the installation position of the seat support section.

In the US 7 878 588 B2 a one-piece, adjustable seat cover is disclosed. This seat cover is used to accommodate a child seat and has an adjustable upper protective plate and a lower protective plate, which are connected to one another by a fold line and form a uniform cover. There are anti-slip surfaces on the corners of the protective plates. A further plate is arranged on the lower plate via a textile fold line, which hangs down and has storage compartments or pockets.

The DE 295 14 368 U1 discloses a support device for child seat cushions in passenger vehicles. It is a support device that is attached to the front of a rear seat bench with the help of retaining straps. There are hooks at the ends of the retaining straps that engage the end edges of the rear seat bench. The child seat finally rests on the retaining straps. The support device consists of a foldable support board with a locking guide, with which the height of the support board can be adjusted by engaging in locking notches. The angle of the support board is adjusted by a bracket, which in turn engages in a notch in the locking guide. The DE 601 18 597 T2 discloses a footrest for a child safety seat, which consists of a tubular frame which is angled downwards, where a step for the child's feet is also arranged so as to be tiltable and adjustable in height. A plate-shaped element on which the child safety seat can be placed is arranged on the horizontal plane. On the side facing the rear seat, the tubular frame is angled in a two-fold articulated manner. For this reason, the present invention is based on the object of providing a child seat pad which on the one hand can be securely arranged on a motor vehicle seat, underneath a child seat, and which at the same time enables a particularly simple, comfortable and reliable adjustment of the footrest depending on the child's leg length . At the same time, it is an object of the present invention to protect the motor vehicle seat and protect it from wear and tear by the child seat.

This object is achieved by a child seat pad according to the features of claim 1.

The child seat pad described here is advantageously arranged on a vehicle seat and thus brought into the position of use. The child seat or any other child restraint systems, such as, for example, booster seats, can then be positioned on the child seat pad aligned in this way. Alternatively, it is also conceivable that the child seat pad described here is arranged and fixed on the rear side of a child restraint system, in particular a child seat, facing away from the seat area, and thus assumes its position of use. The back part is designed in such a way that it spans and / or covers a backrest area of a child restraint system, advantageously a child seat, at least partially, advantageously completely. The back part of the child seat pad is consequently made larger than the rear backrest area of the corresponding child safety seat.

The lower seat part arranged on the back part is furthermore arranged between the vehicle seat surface and the underside of the child safety seat. This advantageously prevents direct contact between the child seat and the vehicle seat surface, as a result of which the seat is protected.

The use position is advantageously to be understood as that position in which the child seat pad is arranged and fixed on a vehicle seat and / or on a child seat. The child seat pad is then ready for use.

The core idea of the present invention is that the foot positioning part is designed as a folding element, the at least two folding areas of which are designed to be pivotable relative to one another about a common axis of rotation. By providing the foot positioning part as a folding element, it was surprisingly possible for the first time to adapt the foot positioning part particularly easily and quickly as a function of the child's leg length. In addition, the design as a folding element also allows the child seat pad to be folded particularly quickly and easily, so that it can be stowed in the motor vehicle in a space-saving manner when not in use.

In addition, the inclination of at least one folding area is designed to be adaptable, so that an inclination different from the horizontal can also be set.

This is particularly advantageous when longer children's legs need to be placed on the foot positioning part. Due to the possible inclination of the folding areas of the foot positioning part, the lower legs of children can also be supported in a particularly pleasant way without unwanted pressure points occurring in the hollows of the knees, as would be the case, for example, with purely horizontal foot positioning parts.

Of course, an arrangement of at least one folding area in the horizontal is also possible as an alternative. This is necessary when the foot positioning part is only used to place children's feet. The latter is especially the case with even smaller children with shorter legs. For older children, the tiltable foot positioning part is, as already mentioned above, advantageous for the leg rest on longer journeys. The limbs are advantageously prevented from falling asleep and the sitting position is significantly improved.

For this purpose, the two folding areas are arranged next to one another and have a common fixing area. This common fixing area is in turn connected to the lower seat part. This can be done directly, for example, so that the common fixing area, through which the common axis of rotation also runs, is fixed, for example sewn, to the lower seat part. However, it is also conceivable that indirect fixation is provided and, for example, an extension module is also arranged between the seat lower part and the common fixation area.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the foot positioning part also has at least one support means which, in addition to the common fixing area, releasably connects the two folding areas to one another and at the same time separates them from one another. For this purpose, the foot positioning part has a first folding area which is designed to put down children's legs and / or to put down children's feet. The second hinged area pivotably attached to it serves to stabilize the foot positioning part in the footwell during the unfolded state. In addition, a support means is provided. This support means is releasably connected to the two folding areas. It is particularly advantageous for the support means to be releasably fixed on the two opposing inner surfaces of the respective folding areas, for example by means of press studs or Velcro fasteners. The support means is advantageously designed to be inherently rigid, so that when it is arranged between the two folding areas, sufficient force dissipation is ensured and sufficient stability of the foot positioning part is also ensured.

If the seat pad is arranged and fixed in the position of use, for example on a vehicle seat, the foot positioning part can be set in the required position in a next step. For this purpose, the two folding areas located in the footwell are pulled apart and unfolded. The upper, first folding area is used for foot and / or leg rest. The second folding area pivoted for this purpose is then guided on or against the rear wall of the footwell in the direction of the rear. Depending on the desired inclination of the first folding area, the support means is then inserted and fastened between the two folding areas. This ensures that the force acting on the first folding area from the feet, for example also caused by kicks, can be transmitted and dissipated particularly effectively and quickly via the support means and the second folding area to the footwell. In the simplest case, the support means is designed in the form of a plate as an inherently rigid force transfer plate. The force transfer plate advantageously has at least one fixing element on each of its two opposite longitudinal sides, for example a Velcro and / or fleece tape or parts of press studs. It is particularly advantageous if the two inner surfaces of the folding areas have the fixing means which are designed to be complementary thereto.

It has proven to be particularly simple to assemble if the longitudinal sides of the support means are designed to be at least partially pivotable. As a result of this pivoting, the support means can be arranged particularly easily and precisely between the two folding areas on their inner sides. For this purpose, a longitudinal section of the support means is arranged parallel to and on the first folding area. It is particularly advantageous here for the longitudinal edge regions of the support means, on which the fixing means are also provided.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the support means spans an equilateral triangle or a right-angled triangle with both folding areas.

In the case of a right-angled triangle, the two folding areas span a 90 ° angle to one another, whereas the support means forms the hypotenuse. In this case, the first folding area is arranged in a horizontal orientation. This horizontal orientation is particularly advantageous for small children with short legs, since they can easily and comfortably set up their feet on this horizontal folding area surface. In both design variants, the second folding area forms a common contact surface with the footwell of the vehicle seat and, for example, lies in the footwell against the rear wall of the footwell facing the rear. The second folding area in combination with the support means thus serves to stabilize and dissipate the force that is introduced onto the first folding area when the feet are put down and / or when the legs are put down.

In a further advantageous embodiment, each folding area has a material thickening on an inner side, the material thickenings being designed to be mirror-symmetrical to one another. The material thickenings can for example be padded or designed with a foam filling. The provision of such a material thickening on each inner side of a folding area is advantageous, since the support element can be detachably arranged on this material thickening. This creates a particularly stable and force-dissipating connection between the support means and the folding areas. In the simplest case, the material thickening is semicircular in its cross section. It can extend over the entire longitudinal side of the folding areas or it can only be provided in parts. Depending on the respective geometry of the respective folding areas, the material thickenings are advantageously provided in the vicinity of the outer edge area.

The function of the thickened material is that it serves as an orientation for the fixation of the proppant. In the simplest case, the support means is arranged on the two material thickenings of the inner surfaces of the folding areas via corresponding fixing means and thus spans a triangle. In a further advantageous embodiment, the folding areas have reinforcing means on the inside. In the simplest case, only one reinforcement means is provided in each folding area. In order to make this possible, the lower seat part and the foot positioning part, more advantageously the common fixing area of the two folding areas to one another, are connected to one another via a textile extension. The textile extension is arranged on the underside, below the zipper, facing the vehicle seat, on the seat lower part and on the foot positioning part. The geometry of the textile extension itself specifies the actual extension path with which the lower seat part can be spaced from the foot positioning part. At the same time, this is reversible.

If the zipper is closed again, the zipper determines the distance between the lower seat part and the foot positioning part.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the lower seat part and / or the back part each have at least two cushioning means. This is advantageous because it additionally dampens the weight of the child restraint system, in particular the child seat, so that pressure points are prevented from forming on the vehicle seat itself. It has proven to be particularly advantageous to provide the upholstery-free section in a horizontal course centrally along the back part. This arrangement is particularly advantageous because the cushion-free section additionally provides a certain flexibility of the back part and makes it easier to adapt to the vehicle seat itself.

In addition, particularly in the case of a rearward-facing child restraint system, also known as a reboarder, the cushioning means offer sufficient cushioning for the children's feet in the event of an impact. In this case, too, the force introduced is at least partially damped and dissipated via the child seat cover.

The lower seat part also advantageously has two cushioning means. In the simplest embodiment, the cushioning means of the lower seat part are designed in the same way as the cushioning means of the back part. In the case of the lower seat part, too, the cushioning means are spaced apart from one another by a section without cushioning. This upholstery-free section is advantageously aligned horizontally and runs centrally along the lower seat part.

Of course, the functions described for the upholstery means of the back part can also be transferred to the upholstery means of the seat lower part and used analogously. It has proven to be particularly advantageous to provide the pad-free section with a width of 1.5 cm-10 cm, advantageously 5 cm.
