Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a belt connection, in particular in a belt processing line or belt treatment plant. The tapes to be joined are in particular metal bands, z. B. non-ferrous metal strips (eg of aluminum or an aluminum alloy). Such strips, in particular metal strips, are usually provided in a coil-wound form for processing in strip processing plants.
In strip processing plants, which are also referred to as strip processing lines, such coils or belts are unwound in the inlet part and then they pass through one or more treatment stations and optionally rewound in the outlet part or alternatively cut into sheets. So that the tapes do not always have to be re-threaded, the beginning of the tape of a new covenant is connected to the tape end of the last (or previous covenant). A common method for mechanically connecting the bands is, in particular in the case of metal bands, stitching and consequently a stitching connection, which is also referred to as punching or stitching. In this case, with a so-called stapling machine, which works as a punch press and usually has an upper and a lower punching tool, a clamping of the bands generated by the punching pattern generated by punching are hooked together. It is a particularly fast and reliable band connection, which is used in particular when the bands can not be connected or only with great effort by a welded joint and in which a simple adhesive bond is not sufficiently reliable and stable. In this respect, the band joining is characterized by stitching by high speed, because with a tool, different materials over a full band thickness range can be combined in a very short time. The stitching seams are equal to the stresses in the strip processing line due to strip tension and bending around the rolls.
Based on the known prior art, the invention, the technical problem of specifying a method which allows a fast and inexpensive band connection without damage to the bands are to be feared by burrs or baubles.
To solve this object, the invention teaches a method for producing a (covered) band connection,
wherein the band end of a first band and the band beginning of a second band are mechanically connected together to form a connecting seam, and
wherein on the tape top and / or on the underside of the band (each) a high temperature resistant, ie up to a temperature of at least 400 ° C temperature-resistant cover strip applied (ie applied) so adhesively that the connecting seam is (completely) covered. The strips are preferably connected to one another by (mechanical) stitching (ie stitching) to form a stitching seam (or stitched seam) as a connecting seam.
The invention makes use of the generally known and proven and particularly cost-effective and fast connection method of stapling or stitching. According to the invention, this principle known connection method in thermal strip treatment lines, z. B: annealing lines for non-ferrous metal strips, also realize so that the stitching is covered before entering the thermal treatment section, with a high-temperature resistant cover strip. High temperature resistant means in the context of Invention a resistance up to a temperature of at least 400 ° C. Preferably, a temperature resistance to at least 500 ° C, more preferably at least 600 ° C is given. Thus, as a cover strip particularly preferably a strip-shaped metal foil, for. B. aluminum, can be used. Metal foil thus means according to the invention a foil or a thin sheet of metal in a thickness range of (about) 0.02 mm to 0.5 mm. Alternatively, however, in principle, other high temperature resistant cover strips, z. B. from insulating board, insulating felt, insulating fabric or the like are used. However, the use of a metal foil is particularly preferred.
The high-temperature resistant cover strip is preferably glued in the context of the invention with a high temperature resistant adhesive on the tape top and / or on the underside of the belt. High-temperature-resistant adhesive means a temperature-resistant to a temperature of at least 400 ° C adhesive, preferably up to a temperature of at least 500 ° C, preferably at least 600 ° C temperature-resistant adhesive. Such high temperature adhesives for such temperature ranges are known in the art and commercially available. You can be within the scope of the invention excellent for the adhesive connection of a high temperature resistant cover strip, z. As a metal foil, use to realize a temperature-resistant and reliable coverage of a stapling seam, which also withstands the high loads within a thermal treatment part (eg., Of a furnace) in a strip processing line. Thus, according to the invention in annealing lines or other treatment lines with oven part z. As coating lines, the band connection in a simple and fast manner by stapling are generated and the cover by means of the high temperature resistant cover strip can be produced before entering the oven (or a tempering). Overall, the stapling seam can be reliably covered with very simple means by z. B. first, the high temperature resistant adhesive is applied to the high temperature resistant cover strip and then the adhesive provided with the cover strip is applied to the top of the tape and / or tape underside. Alternatively, however, it is also within the scope of the invention to apply the adhesive not on the cover strip, but on the stitching seam and then to apply the cover strip. In principle, adhesive can also be applied both to the cover strip and to the stitching seam.
In a preferred development of the adhesive after application to the cover strip (and / or the stitching) before applying the cover strip for a period of at least 1 minute, preferably at least 5 minutes, z. B. 1 minute to 60 minutes, preferably 5 minutes to 30 minutes dried. The invention is based on the recognition that with the generally known high temperature resistant adhesives a particularly reliable attachment of the cover strip on the stitching succeeds when the adhesive is first dried over a certain period. Interesting is the fact that this does not affect the processing of the bands in the line, since the waiting time falls in any case in the range between two coil connections in the current line operation. It is easily possible to stop the band connection for the drying of the adhesive for a longer period, since the band treatment line is usually equipped for a proper coil change anyway with a (inlet side) tape storage.
Particularly preferably, a cover strip is glued both to the upper side of the strip and lower side of the strip. The inventive method is initially suitable for the connection of metal strips of the same width.
The (two) cover strips then have a length which corresponds to the width of the (two) bands. In addition, the method can be used for joining unequal width tapes, in which case the length of the two cover tapes (along the tape) is identical and corresponds (substantially) to the width of the wider tape.
It is also possible to cut the tape connection (i.e., the tapes in the area of the stitching seam) in a side punch and consequently punch it out on one or both sides so that, for tapes of different widths, no protruding corners will interfere with the tape processing line. Basically, there is the possibility that cropping with the side punch after covering the stitching to realize and thereby possibly protruding pieces of the cover strips are cut off. Preferably, however, the trimming is done before applying the cover strips and thus before covering the connecting seam. In this case, the cover strips have a length which corresponds to the "punched out" width of the band connection.
The invention also relates to a method for the continuous treatment of strips, in particular metal strips, in a ribbon process line. Consequently, the method according to the invention for producing a (covered) band connection is not only isolated, but preferably also protected in combination with a band treatment process in a band process line. In this case, first a covered band connection is produced in the manner described. Subsequently, the bands and consequently also the connecting seam covered by the cover strip or strips, in particular stitching seam, pass through a tempering device, eg. B. a furnace, under a strip tension. In such an oven, it may, for. B. act an annealing furnace or a drying oven. In this respect, it may be in the band treatment line z. B. a annealing line for non-ferrous metal strips, z. B. of aluminum alloys. Alternatively, however, it may also be a strip coating line in which the strip is a furnace z. B. for drying a previously applied coating passes through. Always passes through the band with the covered seam a tempering at a temperature of at least 400 ° C, z. B. at least 500 ° C, which thus preferably the temperature inside the tempering or the furnace is meant, which generally coincides with the temperature reached in the furnace of the belt. In any case, in such a band processing line covering the band connection or stitching before entering the oven. Preferably, the bands pass through the seam in a manner known in principle in front of the oven a tape storage. Such a tape storage is usually provided anyway in belt treatment lines to allow a coil change without interrupting the operation. In connection with the invention, the use of such a tape storage has the advantage that z. B. sufficient time to dry the adhesive before applying the cover remains.
The invention also relates to a strip treatment plant for the continuous treatment of strips, in particular metal strips, in particular for the treatment by a method of the type described. Such a strip treatment plant has at least one unwinder for unwinding strips of coils, one (the unwinder in the working direction downstream) connecting device for mechanically connecting the bands, in particular a stapling device and a (the connecting device downstream in the working direction) application device for covering the seam with one or more cover strips and a (the application device downstream in the working direction) treatment furnace, z. B. an annealing furnace or a drying oven. Preferably, a tape storage is arranged between the application device and the oven. The treatment furnace may optionally be followed by a rewinder, wherein optionally between the furnace and rewinder another strip accumulator (outlet storage) can be arranged.
In any case, it is ensured by the invention that the connecting seam, for. B. stitching, the strip processing line including oven passes through without the splice rises. Because the splice does not serve the actual band connection, that is, it is not claimed on tape, but it is only necessary that the cover strip, z. B. the metal foil, adhere to a sufficient extent. Any particles in the stapling seam remain covered and can not stick to rollers.
High-temperature resistant cover strip means in the context of the invention, a cover strip which is temperature resistant up to a temperature of at least 400 ° C, preferably up to a temperature of at least 500 ° C, more preferably up to a temperature of at least 600 ° C.
High-temperature-resistant adhesive means in the context of the invention, an adhesive which is temperature-resistant up to a temperature of at least 400 ° C, preferably up to a temperature of at least 500 ° C, more preferably up to a temperature of at least 600 ° C.
In the context of the invention, it is possible to resort to known high-temperature adhesives which are commercially available. For example, it may be a non-flammable silicone-based adhesive that is free of organic solvents.
