Abstract

Description

The present invention relates to a crochet hook for textile processing by crocheting. When crocheting, a crochet hook is used to make a thread, e.g. a wool thread, a coherent mesh created.

Crochet hooks have in contrast to knitting needles at their tip a hook. By means of this hook it is possible, with only one needle (as opposed to knitting, where several needles are needed) to pull the thread through already existing stitches, so as to create new stitches. This creates a thread mesh in a particularly simple and fast way. When crocheting can be formed by combining different meshes various forms of such thread braids.

Crocheting needles of various thicknesses and hook sizes are known in the prior art in order to be able to process threads of different thickness and texture into fabrics of different fineness. The invention relates to a crochet hook having a needle segment with a needle, wherein the tip of the needle has a hook for guiding a thread and a handle segment for holding the crochet hook, wherein the needle segment is connected via a releasable mechanical connection with the handle segment or connectable. That is, the needle segment and the handle segment can be connected such that a hook can be crocheted with the hook of the needle segment while the crochet hook is held on the handle segment. As releasable mechanical compounds are e.g. Screw or plug connections in question.

The separable and reassemblable handle and needle segments have the particular advantage that a handle can be combined, depending on the use, with different needle segments, e.g. with different needle thickness and hook size. This increases in particular the applications of the crochet hook and saves material and costs.

In particular, with the present invention, an individually selected handle segment (e.g., thick handle with non-slip cushioned surface) can also be combined with needle segments of small needle thickness and hook size. This facilitates the handling of the crochet hook.

In one embodiment, the releasable mechanical connection is a screw connection. This has the advantage of a particularly high stability of the connection when forces are applied to the mechanical connection, e.g. while crocheting. The screw thus dissolves in crocheting heavier than comparable releasable connections.

According to another embodiment, the handle segment has a coating of a coating material with a Shore hardness of 22 or less. Such soft materials are particularly suitable to allow a firm grip with good padding, so good ease of use. In addition to the handle segment, at least part of the needle segment may also have the coating.

According to a further embodiment, the coating material is a silicone. In particular, the silicone has a Shore hardness of 22 or less, so it's a soft silicone. In addition to good padding, silicone as a coating material has the advantage of good slip resistance.
