Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a structurally stable, soft fiber component and the structurally stable, soft fiber component itself. Such fiber components are used in many areas of technology, such as in the automotive industry, as design elements and function carriers application.
Various embodiments of fiber components are already known from the prior art. However, these often fulfill only one function, such as the provision of a carrier layer, a haptic-giving layer or an optic layer. For the production of a component which has several functions, several shaping and mating steps are necessary. In such a component, which consists partly of different materials, often only a thermal recycling is possible.
The invention is therefore based on the object to overcome the abovementioned disadvantages and to provide a method for the cost-effective production of a structurally stable and haptic-giving fiber component and the fiber component itself.
This object is achieved by the feature combination according to claims 1 and 12.
According to the invention, a method for producing a structurally stable, soft fiber component is proposed for this purpose, which comprises a multiplicity of strongly compressed first regions and a multiplicity of second regions which are less strongly compressed. The individual regions of the respective plurality of regions are separated from each other or alternatively formed contiguous, so that the plurality of highly compressed first regions forms a contiguous strongly compressed first region or the plurality of less strongly compressed second regions a contiguous less compressed second region.
For the method of manufacturing the fiber device, a fiber mat is placed in a pressing tool having a pressing surface with a plurality of protrusions in a predetermined arrangement. The projections are aligned with the fiber mat depending on the pattern to be produced in the fiber mat. When a pattern is to be created in which the heavily compressed first regions are interrelated, the plurality of protrusions are connected to each other so that one protrusion of the plurality of protrusions transitions to another protrusion of the plurality of protrusions and the plurality of protrusions forms a continuous protrusion.
Due to the predetermined fiber volume content of the fiber mat and the compression of the fiber mat in the first and second regions, or the ratio of the height H0 to the height H1 and the height H0 to the height H2, the feel and stability of the fiber component is selectively adjustable.
In the method of manufacturing the fiber device, an initial height H0 of the fiber mat is pressed by the plurality of protrusions to a height H1. By pressing the fiber mat by the plurality of protrusions, the plurality of highly compressed first regions are formed in the fiber mat, with the individual regions of the plurality of highly compressed first regions being contiguous or separated from each other depending on the pattern to be formed. By reshaping these areas, the fibers in the first areas are strongly compressed, so that they are harder compared to the less compressed second areas and have a higher stability against pressure and / or bending stress.
The height H1 is smaller than the height H2 of the plurality of less-compressed second regions, in which the individual regions of the plurality of less-compressed second regions are contiguous or separate from each other depending on the pattern to be formed. The plurality of less-compressed second regions are determined during compression by the releases between the projections of the plurality of protrusions on the pressing surface of the pressing tool. During pressing, the fiber mat is pressed from the initial height H0 to the second height H2 in the second regions, which are less heavily pressed.
The height H0 corresponds to the distance of the surfaces of the unpressed fiber mat in the thickness direction of the fiber mat.
The height H1 corresponds to the distance of the surfaces of the compressed fiber mat in the thickness direction in the strongly compressed first regions of the plurality of strongly compressed first regions.
The height H2 corresponds to the distance of the surfaces of the compressed fiber mat in the thickness direction in the less compressed second regions of the plurality of highly compressed second regions.
Due to the strongly compressed first areas and the less heavily pressed second areas and their arrangement to each other arise different beneficial effects. Due to the arrangement or the pattern of the strongly compressed first regions, a structural stability of the fiber component is achieved, which is formed in a complex final contour dependent on the use. The structural stability corresponds to an increased torsional and bending stiffness of the surface, which form the compressed areas compared to a non-compressed fiber mat. The torsional and bending stiffness of a fiber device with compressed areas are greatly increased compared to a fiber device without compressed areas, whereby no additional carrier layer is necessary because the fiber component integrally forms a supporting support structure. The less strongly compressed second areas serve the feel of the fiber component, so that the fiber component has a softness and a surface texture that is pleasant for the person when touched by a person or under pressure.
By combining the first and second regions in an arrangement adapted to the properties to be achieved with each other and to each other and the dimensions in terms of surface area and height, a fiber component is provided which has a structurally stable, complex curves following form without an additional support and at the same time forms a haptic surface perceived as pleasant.
The fiber component additionally serves for sound insulation, especially at high frequencies, and has a positive effect on the climate regulation of a room in which it is installed due to the absorption of temperature and moisture.
It is advantageous for the method that the fiber mat has the initial height H0 in a thickness direction before it is pressed over substantially its entire surface. By a uniform initial height H0 the fiber mat is compressed evenly during pressing with the pressing tool in the respective first and second areas, resulting in a uniform stability and a uniform pressure sensitivity in the respective areas.
It is further advantageous that the fiber mat after pressing has the plurality of heavily compressed first regions with the height H1, the plurality of less strongly compressed second regions with the height H2 and a plurality of transition regions, wherein in each case a transition region of the plurality of transition regions between a first region of the plurality of highly compressed first regions and a second region of the plurality of less compressed second regions. In the transition areas, each of which can be formed differently, a stepwise or flowing adaptation of the height H1 to the height H2 is possible. For example, a first transition region on a fiber device provides a linear transition from height H1 to height H2, whereas a second transition region on the fiber device forms two or more horizontal surfaces and provides a gradual transition between height H1 and height H2.
It is advantageous in the method that the pressing surface has a multiplicity of cavities and in each case follows a cavity of the plurality of cavities recessed relative to the projection in a direction orthogonal to the pressing surface in at least one direction along the pressing surface on a projection of the plurality of projections. The plurality of cavities during pressing determines the plurality of less compressed second regions alternatively or in addition to the spaces between the protrusions of the plurality of protrusions. Depending on the arrangement or the pattern to be generated, the cavities of the plurality of cavities are connected or separated from one another.
The pressing surface has the plurality of protrusions and the plurality of cavities in a predetermined advantageous arrangement with respect to one another, so that predetermined stability, haptic and functional properties result for the fiber component.
The projections of the plurality of projections are advantageously at least partially offset from one another. As a result, the regions of the plurality of strongly compressed first regions are at least partially offset from each other. By this predetermined, staggered arrangement results in a stability of the fiber component by the heavily compressed areas. The projections or the strongly compressed areas are separated from each other or depending on the pattern to be generated or the arrangement each interconnected.
In particular, by the at least partial use of natural fibers for the fiber mat results in a high environmental impact and allows various recycling methods. In addition to the re-use in shredded form as insulation further recycling methods, such as recycling by rotting, possible.
The height H1 of the fiber mat is between 1 mm and 4 mm, preferably 2 mm, and the height H2 of the fiber mat is between 5 mm and 40 mm, preferably 10 mm.
The distance between the surfaces, ie the height H0, height H1 and height H2, is each with a suitable measuring means and a suitable measuring method, for example, to measure a laser measuring method with a laser or an optical measuring method with a camera. Both measuring instruments and measuring methods take into account the pressure sensitivity and the surface quality of the fiber mat.
The pressing surface is located in the pressing tool, a flat counterpressure surface or alternatively an at least partially formed as a negative mold to the pressing surface Gegenformpressfläche against which the fiber mat is pressed during the pressing.
To produce visually appealing surface structures and surface designs which deviate from the surface structure and the surface design of the fiber mat, it is advantageous that a decorative layer extending at least partially over a surface of the fiber mat lies or can be introduced during the pressing between the fiber mat and the pressing surface. Alternatively or additionally, a decorative layer can be inserted or introduced between the fiber mat and the counterpressing surface or between the fiber mat and the counterforming press surface. The decorative layer or decorative layers are / are pressed together with the fiber mat during pressing, so that they form a composite, for example by an adhesive as an intermediary between the different layers.
The plurality of highly compressed first regions define a fixed and stabilizing support structure in the fiber mat, which is formed depending on the arrangement of the regions, contiguous or as separate support structure regions separate from one another. The regions of the plurality of less strongly compressed second regions define a soft and haptic-imparting structure in the fiber mat, which is formed as a contiguous or a separate haptic-responsive structure depending on the arrangement of the regions.
Also advantageous is a variant embodiment, in which for the fiber mat or the decorative layer materials, such as flow, are used, the surface texture and / or optics changed over the applied pressure in the pressing on the heights H1 and H2. If, for example, a flow is used, it remains fluffy on its surface in the less strongly compressed second regions of the height H2 and forms a closed surface in the strongly compressed first regions of the height H1.
According to the invention, a structurally stable, soft fiber component with a plurality of strongly compressed first regions of a height H1 and a plurality of less strongly compressed second regions of a height H2 is also proposed. Between a region of the plurality of strongly compressed first regions and a region of the plurality of second regions that are less strongly compressed, there is in each case a transition region in which the height H1 merges into the height H2. The regions of the plurality of highly compressed first regions and the regions of the plurality of less compressed second regions are formed with each other in a predetermined arrangement. The arrangement of each other or the pattern resulting from the arrangement produces the stability-giving effect and embeds into the structure the soft or less strongly compressed second areas. The firm and stable supporting structure in the fiber mat is determined by the plurality of strongly compressed first areas. The plurality of less compressed second areas determines a soft and haptic-giving structure. The height H1 of the fiber component is between 1 mm and 4 mm and is preferably 2 mm. The height H2 is between 5 mm and 40 mm and is preferably 10 mm.
The features disclosed above can be combined in any way that is technically possible and they do not contradict each other.
