Description
The present invention relates to an alcoholic disinfectant and the use of the disinfectant for the disinfection of surfaces, in particular for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of fatty alcohol for improving the antimicrobial effectiveness of an alcoholic disinfectant.

The object of the present invention is to provide moisturizers for disinfectants containing isopropanol and ethanol, wherein the lipids in the disinfectant, in contrast to glycerol, should not have an antimicrobial activity-inhibiting effect, especially if they are present in higher concentrations Concentration should be used.
There is a particular need for disinfectants for hygienic and for surgical hand disinfection, which indeed have a high content of C 2 - to C 3 alcohols and are therefore very good antimicrobial (especially bactericidal) effective, but at the same time as little as possible degreasing Act. These funds should contain as few mandatory ingredients as possible. The disinfectants should therefore not contain many different mandatory antimicrobial agents. Likewise, the compositions are not necessarily intended to include many different active ingredients for improving skin care properties (or these skin care ingredients in large quantity).
Surprisingly, it has been possible to show that the use according to the invention of fatty alcohols, in combination with the active constituents isopropanol and ethanol, leads to a marked increase in activity. This is particularly surprising in view of the fact that the fatty alcohols without 1- (2-ethylhexyl) glycerol ether lead to a significantly improved effectiveness of the formulation against bacterial pathogens, which differ significantly in their cellular structure from viral agents. Both GRAM-negative bacteria (E. coli) and GRAM-positive pathogens on the skin (see the experiments on surgical hand disinfection) showed favorable effects.

Tab. 3-F. Vorzeichenrangtest für gepaarte StichprobenTab. 3-F. Sign ranking test for paired samples
(Chirurgische Händedesinfektion nach prEN 12791:2013)
Der Median liegt zwischen dem 12. und 13. Wert [–0,06 + (–0,20)]/2 = –0,13. The median is between the 12th and 13th values [-0.06 + (-0.20)] / 2 = -0.13. The small exponents indicate the ranks. The mean pairwise differences that do not exceed the median value (here: -0.13) are calculated. From Wilcoxon's Paired Sample Criterion Prevalued Critical Ranking Critical Values Table 3F results in a critical value of 81 for an input value of N = 24 and a one-sided significance level of 0.025. Thus, c = 81 + 1 = 82. The pairwise differences become descending Order sorted. The 82nd value is 0.65. Thus, the one-sided upper 97.5% confidence limit for the difference in IgR between RP and PP is 0.65, which is less than the agreed inferiority limit of 0.75. Therefore, the hypothesis of inferiority of PP's immediate effect is rejected and it can be concluded that the preparation under test (PP) is not subject to the reference product (RP).

It was surprising that formulation III according to the invention, which does not contain 1- (2-ethylhexyl) glycerol ethers, has a similar microbiological activity as a comparable commercial formulation II containing 1- (2-ethylhexyl) glycerol ethers.
b) EN 12791b) EN 12791
The difference between the mean log 10 reduction factors (RF) of both methods was tested by the Hodges & Lehmann test (Tables 3D-3F). The one-sided upper 97.5% confidence limit for the log 10 RF difference between the reference and the test product is 0.75 for the immediate effect, which is less than the agreed 0.45 inferiority limit. Formulation III was therefore not inferior in its immediate effect on the reference. This confirms the effectiveness of Formulation III in the following Surgical Hand Disinfection application: 2 × 5 ml / 60 seconds.
Thus, when using fatty alcohols according to the invention (in formulation III), an effectiveness of 60 seconds in surgical hand disinfection could be demonstrated, whereas formulation I, a commercially available preparation, was effective only in 180 seconds.
