The invention has for its object to provide an aforementioned device and a use thereof or a method with which problems of the prior art can be solved and it is particularly well possible to clean sea water and produce drinking water.
This object is achieved by a device having the features of claim 1 and a method having the features of
It is envisaged that the apparatus for cleaning or desalination or filtration of seawater comprises osmotic filter means having osmotic filter membranes. The osmotic filter means have a filter input and a filter output, wherein at the filter inlet seawater flows, possibly by means of a coarse filter or the like. prepurified or prefiltered. The filter outlet is connected to a reservoir. The reservoir in turn is connected to a pump or has a connected pump, the pump is particularly advantageously arranged directly on the reservoir, ie at about the same depth and for example at most 1 m to 2 m away from it. The pump pumps filtered or purified water from the reservoir through an affiliated with her or outgoing line upwards. This line goes from the device or pump away in the direction of sea level, where the filtered or purified water is then supplied to a further use. The device is arranged at a depth of more than 500 m, advantageously more than 600 m and for example up to 800 m. The pressure at this depth is sufficient to press seawater automatically through the osmosis filter membranes for filtering or cleaning, so that it is mainly desalted. Thus, no energy or effort for the cleaning process is required per se. It only has to be brought up the purified water for further meaningful use.
The said line goes from the device or from the pump upwards towards the sea level, ie to where the purified water is needed. For this purpose, there are in the context of the invention further different training options, which will be explained in more detail below.
According to a first embodiment of the invention, the device is firmly anchored on or on the seabed, so it lies or stands essentially on the ground and is at its depth. For this purpose, just an area of the seabed must be selected, which has a correspondingly desired depth and texture. This type of fixed arrangement on or on the seabed, under certain circumstances as anchoring, has the advantage that it is relatively easy to reach exact position. For example, stones or other weights can be used to easily fix the device to the seabed. Furthermore, such a good and stable as well as faithful departure point for the upward-going line is possible, so that the purified or filtered water can be brought up well over the considerable necessary cable length away. With a firm anchoring on the seabed, the device can also be arranged on a few meters high frame. This is still considered as an arrangement directly on the seabed.
Although in a second embodiment of the invention, the device can also be kept steadily at a certain depth, it can be designed to float freely. This is to mean that it does not rest directly on the seabed, but is held downwards and / or upwards with holding means, which are advantageously designed in the manner of tethers. With a bracket down, the retaining means can be ropes or chains that are fixed to the seabed with weights. So it is possible to arrange the device well above the seabed, for example, 10 m or 100 m, so that existing ocean currents can be better used for the supply of fresh seawater and possible, occurring on the seabed effects such as growth with algae or the like. are lower.
In the second embodiment, the device may under certain circumstances swing back and forth or move. It is also possible that the device is not fixed down or not alone down, but also upwards. For this purpose, it can be attached with tethers up to a head station in the manner of a floating platform, alternatively, on a ship. So anytime and relatively easy maintenance of the device is possible by pulling up.
In general, it is considered advantageous if a coarse filter is arranged in front of a filter input to the osmotic filter means. Thus, organic material or larger components can be filtered out. It can also be prevented so that microbes and microorganisms get into the osmosis filter means and damage or clog them.
It is possible to arrange a pump in front of the osmosis filter means, in particular behind said coarse filter, in particular even if no such coarse filter is provided. Such a pump ensures a constant flow of water to the osmotic filter means and past the osmotic filter means in order to prevent accumulation effects, so that always fresh seawater is always brought to the osmosis filter.
Deren Leistung bzw. Arbeitsdruck muss nämlich nicht besonders hoch sein. As here mentioned pumps, especially to the filtered water up to pumps, are suitable because of the necessary working pressures and delivery heights centrifugal pumps. For a pump in front of the osmosis filter means, a normal axial pump or an impeller pump can also be used. Their performance or working pressure does not have to be very high.
The osmotic filter means with the osmosis filter membranes can basically be formed in various ways. In particular, they may be elongated and cylindrical, advantageously largely round cylindrical. The osmosis filter membranes are arranged in the osmotic filter means so that they have the largest possible active surface or can achieve the highest possible filter throughput. For this purpose, the osmosis filter membranes can for example be folded and / or rolled arranged in a shell, so that just the largest possible membrane area between the filter inlet and filter outlet is given. At the same time, the osmosis filter or the osmosis filter means should be cleanable in order to be able to remove deposits or soiling again. This can be done by backwashing.
In one embodiment of the invention commercially available osmosis filter modules can be used as osmotic filter means. Thus, for example, commercially available osmosis filter modules are available, as they are used for the enrichment of grape must by means of reverse osmosis. Such Osmosefiltermodule have a diameter of 10 cm to 20 cm and a length of about 1 m. Filter input and filter output are on opposite ends of the cylinder shape. So can be used on existing and proven osmosis filter or osmosis filter modules. This increases reliability if possible and lowers costs.
If the osmotic filter means are generally designed as elongate and / or cylindrical osmosis filter modules, an advantageous possibility of the arrangement is that several of them are combined as a parallel, preferably interconnected, bundle. Your respective filter output can be connected to the reservoir with an advantageously short line section. Before the filter inputs, an aforementioned coarse filter is advantageously arranged, either per osmosis filter module such a coarse filter or a coarse filter for several osmosis filter modules together.
In general, it should be noted for the entire device, in particular for the osmosis filter means and the reservoir, that they are arranged at a great depth with corresponding water pressure and should work there permanently. They are therefore either sufficiently stable to pressure form, for example, by production with high stability or large wall thicknesses of the corresponding material, advantageously steel or stainless steel, but possibly also fiber composite materials. Alternatively, it can be provided that they are largely filled with water and can thus withstand the high water pressure.
In an advantageous embodiment, the device has a head station on the sea surface and / or on land, so particularly advantageous at about the level of the sea level. In this head-end pumped up filtered water can be collected. Furthermore, it is possible to control and monitor the device from the headend. Likewise, a repair or maintenance of the device can be made from there. Furthermore, energy, in particular electricity, can be emitted from the head end down to the device in the depth or be conducted with cables. From the headend, the device can also be used for repair, maintenance or serious damage to the top be drawn if it is trained accordingly. A head station on the sea can be a kind of floating platform, alternatively a ship, for example a discarded ship such as an oil tanker or the like. If the device according to the above-mentioned first alternative is designed so that it rests on the seabed, the head station may indeed be arranged in a straight line above the device, whereby a line length can be minimized upwards. But it can also be arranged offset above it, for example, further towards land, in order then to facilitate a forwarding of the purified water.
If a head-end station is arranged on land, the above-mentioned pipe, with which the purified water is brought upwards, must be laid obliquely. In this case, a line can either lie substantially directly on the seabed or be provided with ground anchors run just above the seabed, so that it is not completely or largely free. Alternatively, it can be supported with one or a few floats between the beginning and end, so that it does not sag too much in a largely free course or is loaded on tensile stress. Because the line contains filtered water, which is usually lighter than the salty seawater, and still has its own weight, it may be pulled up or float up. A remedy may be that the line is made heavier by special training and / or material additives, so that it floats in the state filled with filtered water in the sea. Alternatively, it can by this buoyancy force attached heavy parts such as cables, lines or the like. wear better.
The said line may on the one hand be a rigid tube. This is particularly useful when laying on the seabed and in a substantially vertical course of the filter device up to a said headend. Such stable tubes are known from the field of oil production, which also takes place in accordance with comparable depths. Alternatively, the line may be flexible, for example in the manner of a hose. Here conventional hoses with high mechanical stability can be used.

For a powerful production of fresh water or purification or filtration of seawater, a variety of osmotic filter means may be provided, for example up to 200 or 300 pieces per device. These can easily be interconnected in a suitable manner. Similarly, multiple devices may be interconnected or used together, for example, all at a single headend.
