In Deutschland sind verschiedene Anmeldungen unter Verwendung der Begriffe „Komplementdokument” wie auch „Marker” angemeldet worden. Die deutschen Anmeldungen haben mit der US-Anmeldung gemeinsam, dass sie originären Web-Seiten oder im Internet per Adresse aufrufbaren, originären Daten (Inhalte, Content) zusätzliche Information als Metadaten zuordnen. Diese Metadaten können über das Internet gesucht und gefunden werden und stellen mit ihren Links quasi eine neue Ebene für den Datenaustausch im Internet als Ergänzung zum bisherigen Web mit seinen originären Daten (Content) dar. Die restlichen Felder sind mit Texten vom Ersteller der Tabelle gefüllt. Die Daten einer solchen Tabelle können in einfacher Form z. B. per JSON-Format wie hier angegeben, übertragen werden.
