Description
The invention relates to an inflatable belt for a seat belt device having the features of the preamble of
Inflatable belts for safety belt devices of motor vehicles are basically known and serve to reduce the occupant load in the accident.
In this case, the inflatable belt is deliberately inflated in the area of the Diagonalgurtabschnittes in a Aufblasabschnitt to the thick "sausage", while the lap belt section or expected not to reach the chest reaching portion of the webbing serves only the gas passage and is not increased. Accordingly, the inflatable belt has at least two sections, namely the inflatable section inflatable to the thick "sausage" and one or two gas passage sections adjacent thereto, which serve only for the passage of gas and indeed have a cavity, but can not be inflated to a larger diameter.
The object of the invention is to provide an inflatable belt with increased reliability.
To solve the problem, an inflatable belt is proposed with the features of
According to the basic idea of the invention, it is proposed that the woven layers have a transition section arranged between the inflating section and the gas passage section, which has a diameter which increases from the gas transmission section at a maximum angle of 20 degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis of the belt. It has been found in experiments that the stress of the connections of the woven layers at their edges in the inflation section and the gas passage section is basically different due to the different diameter. This results in voltage gradients, which under unfavorable circumstances can lead to premature release of the connections. Furthermore, the inflation should be as long and large dimensions, so that the occupant load is minimized. However, despite this requirement, it has been found useful to provide a transition section with a slightly smaller surface area between the inflator section and the gas passage section as compared to a stepped transition which should have a maximum angle of 20 degrees. By the transition section with the proposed angle, the voltage gradients can be reduced so much that the connection between the Weblagen is not prematurely solved. Furthermore, a more homogeneous inflation of the webbing can be ensured by the proposed transition section, so that the inflatable webbing applies evenly to the occupant during inflation and the tearing thread connecting the web layers rips uniformly like a zipper.
Particularly good values could be achieved by the angle of the transition section is 12 to 15 degrees, preferably 13 degrees, and in that the inflation section has a diameter of 125 to 135 mm and the gas passage section has a diameter of 50 to 55 mm. The diameter specifications refer to the inflated state of the inflatable belt.
Further, the transition portion should have a length of at least 140 mm in the longitudinal direction of the webbing.
The proposed solution is particularly advantageous when the inflatable belt is subdivided into a lap belt portion crossing the pelvis of an occupant by a belt tongue lockable in a vehicle-fixed buckle, and a diagonal belt portion crossing the occupant's chest, and the inflating portion is disposed in the diagonal belt portion, and the transition section is arranged between the lower end of the inflator section and the gas passage section adjacent thereto. It has been found that the connection of the Weblagen in a filling of the inflatable belt from the side of the end fitting, i. from the side of the vehicle-fixed attachment of the lap belt section, in particular in the lower portion of the inflatable section is particularly high load, as this is additionally burdened in the accident by the forces exerted by the highly loaded lap belt section tensile forces.
Furthermore, the proposed solution is particularly useful when the inflatable belt is inflatable by a vehicle-fixed end of the lap belt section. As a result, the gas stream flows from the lower side of the Diagonalgurtabschnittes in the inflation section, so that it is additionally loaded with a tensile force due to the reaction forces acting. This tensile force can be distributed through the proposed transition section to the connection of the Weblagen that the maximum voltage spikes are reduced to a level that the connection of the Weblagen is not prematurely damaged.
