Description

The invention relates to a drinking vessel holder and the arrangement of the drinking vessel holder in a console, in particular a console-like armrest or center armrest, which is installed in particular on a seat or on a bench.

The publication DE 10 2008 058 107 A1 explains the basic known state of the art. Armrests are usually mounted so that they can pivot and can be pivoted between a rest position that is pivoted up and a support position that is pivoted down. In the raised resting position, the armrest forms part of the leaning surface. In order to provide the vehicle occupants with a comfortable seat on the raised armrest, the basic structure of the armrest, which faces the interior of the vehicle in the raised rest position, is provided with upholstery.

In the prior art, such armrests are sometimes equipped with a rigid drinking vessel holder and are attached to the base structure or to a holding structure attached to the base structure of the armrest within an upholstery. The drinking vessel holder is arranged on the back of the armrest opposite the front and thus points with its opening in the swung-down support position of the armrest towards the upper interior of the vehicle.

The drinking vessel holder has an opening on the back of the armrest and extends from this opening on the back of the armrest towards the front of the armrest into the interior of the armrest. A so-called mounting frame, for example, which is arranged in the upholstery and connected to the basic structure, acts as a holding structure. If a user sits down on a vehicle seat or a back seat in the area of the swung-up armrest and leans, for example, with his back on the backrest surface of the armrest, the upholstery can only be shaped to a very limited extent in a disadvantageous manner, as a deformation of the usually rigid drinking vessel holder not possible. The rigid drinking vessel holder or its holding structure extends within the armrest due to the desired setting depth of vessels in the drinking vessel holder in the armrest almost over the entire height (between the front and back) of the armrest, so that the drinking vessel holder and / or the holding structure on the back the armrest is arranged very close to the surface, so that there is only a small amount of padding on the back.

Another disadvantage is that the rigid drinking vessel holder has a negative impact on the support comfort when the armrest is in the swung-down support position. The publications are also supplemented DE 20 2007 016 332 U1 and EP 0 443 726 A2 pointed out. The publication DE 10 2008 058 107 A1 already offers an approach to solving the problems.

It is proposed that the drinking vessel holder has at least one elastically deformable deformation zone. This deformation zone is arranged and designed in such a way that the drinking vessel holder can deform together with the upholstery on the front of the armrest. This can ensure that the drinking vessel holder, together with the upholstery, is deformed at least to some extent when a user leans or leans against the backrest surface on the swung-up armrest. Since the drinking vessel holder is no longer completely rigid, the back of the armrest can better conform to the contours of the user's body and thereby ensure greater seating comfort.

In order to be able to assemble the drinking vessel holder with a high level of process reliability, the publication requires the drinking vessel holder to be rigid, at least in some areas. This rigidity of the drinking vessel holder is preferably realized by a stiff edge part, which at the same time forms the opening of the drinking vessel holder, so that ultimately supporting the rigid edge part of the drinking vessel holder is perceived as unpleasant.

In addition, in order to support the mechanical strength of the armrest, that is to say the upholstery, metal frames are provided in the upholstery, in particular near the edge part of the drinking vessel holder.

In order to fix the drinking vessel holder locally, a receiving tray is also provided in the upholstery, in which the drinking vessel holder is fixed via locking hooks. With this solution, a holding element for the drinking vessel holder is still disadvantageously required.

In order to overcome the disadvantages mentioned, the object of the present invention is a new one based on this prior art To propose a cost-effective and easy-to-assemble console, in particular a new, cost-effective armrest with a drinking vessel holder, the comfort of which is further improved and which is arranged in an attractive manner in the console.

The starting point of the invention is a drinking vessel holder which comprises at least one receiving opening formed on a top side of the drinking vessel holder with an edge and at least one wall-like element, wherein the at least one wall-like element ends at a bottom of a bottom side of the drinking vessel holder. The drinking vessel holder thus forms a receptacle for drinking vessels between the receiving opening and the base.

It is preferably provided that an upper side of the cover material is placed against an underside of the edge of the drinking vessel holder, the underside of the edge of the drinking vessel holder forming a contact surface relative to the upholstery provided with the cover, the seam fixing the drinking vessel holder providing a permanent seal and fixation of the drinking vessel holder.

It has advantageously been found that such a connection of the drinking vessel holder to the cover is sufficient to fix the drinking vessel holder in the console in a desired position. Creating a seam connection is a process that can be done quickly and inexpensively. In addition, the fixation via the seam connection means that additional holding elements within the upholstered console are no longer required. There is a reduction in the amount of material required and a reduction in the overall weight of the console with the drinking vessel holder arranged therein. It has also been found that the seam between the cover and the drinking vessel holder can be used to create an elegant and dust-tight transition, with the seam itself ultimately advantageously representing an attractive design element.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is further provided with regard to the arrangement that the upholstery of the console has a recess all around the recess, which receives the opening-side edge of the cover and the edge of the drinking vessel holder, whereby an upper side of the drinking vessel holder is flush with a front side of the console .

This technical solution has the advantage that the console provided with the drinking vessel holder forms a flat support surface as soon as the console is in its supporting position, which will be discussed further in the description. Added to this is the attractive arrangement of the drinking vessel holder, as the edge of the drinking vessel holder sits in the circumferential recess, so that the drinking vessel holder is flush and does not protrude beyond the front of the console. In addition, it is provided that the drinking vessel holder is at least partially formed from a plastically deformable material, in particular from a thermoplastic elastomer. The resulting advantages are described in detail in the following exemplary embodiment. The general advantage is that, because the drinking vessel holder is made from a plastically deformable material, it is partially or completely flexible as soon as a pressure force is exerted on the drinking vessel holder. Such a pressure force can be exerted on the drinking vessel holder in the rest position of the console, in which the console offers a contact surface for a person sitting on it, or in the support position of the console, in which the console offers a support surface for an arm of a person sitting on it. The effect is that the drinking vessel holder gives way a little in the direction of the pressure force exerted, so that, particularly in the rest position, no disruptive contour is noticed by the person sitting on the back of the person sitting on the seat when he is leaning against the contact surface of the console.

In an advantageous manner, the arrangement of the drinking vessel holder in the upholstery of the console through the seam connection represents a relatively flexible but still firm connection, which also gives way in the direction of the applied pressure force as soon as a compressive force acts. The usual connections of the drinking vessel holder to fixed holding structures within the consoles known from the prior art do not offer this effect.

According to the invention, the drinking vessel holder 200 arranged modularly in the console is manufactured and assembled as follows. First, a cover cover is formed in which a passage opening is provided on the later front side 101 of the console.
