Bei den Profilen aus Leichtmetall handelt es sich vorzugsweise um Aluminium-Strangpressprofile. Bei den Knoten aus Leichtmetall handelt es sich vorzugsweise um Aluminium-Druckgussteile. Nach der Praxis sind die Profile aus dem Leichtmetall und die Knoten aus dem Leichtmetall mittels Schweißen verbunden. Zudem wird eine Automatisierung erleichtert, z.B. ein Einsatz von Robotern, indem die Anforderungen an die Genauigkeit der Positionierung gesenkt werden. Auch wird einem Abstreifen bzw.
