Die Höhe dieser Eigenfrequenzen sinkt mit geringer werdender Steifigkeit. Deshalb liegen die Eigenfrequenzen solcher Bauteile in der Regel umso niedriger, je größer deren Durchmesser und Längen werden. Vor allem im Nutzfahrzeug-Bereich, in dem die Durchmesser und Längen der flexiblen Leitungselemente systembedingt größer sind, ist ein Einsatz von Metallbälgen ohne auf die spezielle Konfiguration angepasste Dämpfungselemente nicht aussichtsreich.The vibrations induced during operation in the exhaust system can lead to natural frequency excitation in the flexible conduit elements.
