Description
In the laboratory fume hoods of the prior art, the lighting of the working space is usually carried out with one or more fluorescent tubes, which are either arranged in light boxes at the edge of the working space or from outside of the working space in this shine. The arranged within the workspace lights usually lead to a deterioration of the air flow. In order to minimize this and the resulting deteriorated operation of the fume hood, the choices in number and location of the fluorescent tubes in practice are very limited. As a result, the illumination of the work space is often unsatisfactory, and shadowing can hardly be avoided. The latter problem also occurs when mounted outside of the workspace lights, where at least eliminates the problem of impairment of air flow, but there are still tends to be less variation in the positioning.
The object of the invention is accordingly to provide a fume hood and in particular a safety workbench in which the disadvantages described do not occur and a good illumination of the working space can be achieved without affecting the air flow in an adverse manner for the operation.
The solution to this problem is achieved with the fume hood, especially a safety workbench, as described in
In its broadest aspect, the invention thus relates to a fume hood and in particular a safety workbench with a working space surrounded by a housing with a working opening which can be closed with a windshield. In this respect, the device does not differ from the previously known devices. In contrast to the latter, however, at least in the area of the working space delimiting front and ceiling surface for illuminating the working space LEDs are arranged such that they radiate light in the direction of the worktop and / or the back of the working space.
For the purposes of the invention, the term "fume hood", as mentioned, any type of fume hood - including any type of safety workbench, such as those of the classes I to III, as well as cleanroom or product protection workbenches such as Impfbänke. All these devices can be readily used within the scope of the invention, since the attachment of LEDs in the areas mentioned in all cases without difficulty is possible.
In the context of the present invention, the illumination of the working space of the fume hood is thus carried out by means of LEDs, which are arranged both in the area of the working space delimiting the front side and the ceiling surface. The LEDs are mounted so that they radiate their light in the direction of the worktop and / or the back of the workspace. The irradiation of the irradiated area (s) takes place from different directions because of the mounting on both the front side and the ceiling surface, which avoids the formation of shadows. At the same time, the described orientation of the LEDs prevents the user of the fume hood from being dazzled by the emitted light. Another advantage of using LEDs is their small size. Since they practically do not disturb the air flow in the working area due to this, they can also be installed in larger numbers in the working space. Location and number are hardly limited because of the small footprint, which allows almost any distribution and thus a virtually freely configurable illumination of the working space. Of course, the well-known low power consumption, the long life and the low heat of the LEDs are of advantage.
A preferred attachment of the LEDs on the front side is the arrangement along the work opening limiting side rails. This attachment has the advantage that the irradiation of the working space can essentially follow the viewing direction of the user, the irradiated surfaces are thus facing the user. At the same time, however, the side rails shield the LEDs back towards the user and prevent them from being dazzled. An arrangement of LEDs on both sides of the work opening and preferably over the entire height leads to a very good illumination of the workroom. Suitably, the LEDs are thereby aligned so that they emit light in the direction of the center of the working space, wherein the different LEDs can also be aligned differently to illuminate the largest possible area of the working space. Different angles of incidence on the illuminated surface also advantageously reduce shadowing.
The LEDs arranged in the area of the ceiling surface are preferably fastened to the laminator sheet. The laminator is usually a perforated plate, which by a certain arrangement of holes and / or slots for an advantageous embodiment of the air flow, in particular the laminar falling flow in safety workbenches, and protects behind underlying filter from damage. Since the LEDs used to illuminate the working space have only a very small size, they can be easily attached to the laminator without disturbing this flow of air. They can then be distributed essentially over the entire surface of the laminator, whereby a very uniform illumination of the working space can be achieved. The air flowing through the openings of the Laminatorblechs provides cooling of the LEDs. Suitably, arranged on the ceiling surface LEDs are at least largely aligned so that they irradiate the worktop of the working space from above, while the located on the front LEDs emit at least partially in the direction of the rear wall, the irradiated by a LED surface at the same time both on the back wall and the worktop can lie. Another part of the front LEDs may be aligned so that the worktop is illuminated obliquely from above. In this arrangement, a particularly favorable illumination of the working space can be achieved. However, there are a variety of arrangements, alignments and distributions of the LEDs on front and ceiling surface conceivable to obtain optimal lighting depending on the application.
Die Anbringung solcher Lichtbänder bietet sich besonders an den die Arbeitsöffnung begrenzenden Seitenholmen an.In the context of the invention, all types of LEDs can be used, that is, for example, conventional wired LEDs, SMD LEDs or COB LEDs, also combined with each other. The color tone can also be chosen as desired and intended purpose. Again, combinations of different types of LEDs are possible. In principle, the LEDs can each be fastened separately at a suitable location. However, it is preferable to use the LEDs in the form of a light band on which a plurality of LEDs are arranged in a row, both with regard to the attachment and the electrical contacting. Such light strips equipped with LEDs are known in the prior art. Preferably, the light band can be mounted pivotably about its longitudinal axis. It is then possible, by pivoting the light band, to change the area irradiated by the LEDs, even during operation, in order, for example, to selectively irradiate areas in which work is currently being carried out. The attachment of such light bands lends itself particularly to the work opening limiting side rails.
It is also possible, for example, the attachment to or integration in at least one of the working space limiting discs. For example, laminated glass is known (for example, Schollglas GmbH, Barsinghausen, DE), between whose panes the LEDs are embedded in a polymer layer. By this additional irradiation of light from other directions, an even better and more uniform illumination of the working space can be achieved and located in the work space objects can be illuminated on all sides to make them even better recognizable in their spatial shape. In addition, the shadowing is further reduced. In these arranged on the side walls and back of the working space LEDs, however, there is an increased risk that the user of the fume hood is dazzled by the radiated light. However, this risk of glare can be reduced or completely avoided, especially when using LEDs for lighting in a simple way. For example, it is easily possible due to the small size of the LEDs to arrange them in a recess and thus to escape the immediate view of the user. In addition, LEDs are offered with different beam angles. It is thus possible to use LEDs with sufficiently small emission angles, in which light emission in the direction of the work opening and thus of the user is prevented. Additionally or alternatively, the LED can be provided with a glare protection, which fulfills the same purpose. As a rule, however, no additional measures with regard to anti-glare protection will be necessary, since the LEDs already have no dazzling effect due to their design (built-in lens body, relatively low emission angle) from the outset. In addition, it is possible to use LEDs with lower power in areas that are immediately visible to the user, that is, for example, to use a few less luminous ones instead of a single high-brightness LED or to dim the LEDs and thus avoid glare. In addition, the LEDs can also be aligned so that they do not radiate directly in the direction of the user, so for example not straight, but obliquely from back to front, the LEDs are preferably arranged in lateral rear areas and not directly in front of the user.
As a rule, a uniform and / or low-shadow basic lighting is to be sought for the working space, which may possibly also be supplemented by the spot-like / regional illumination of specific areas. It has already been pointed out in this context, the benefits that can be achieved by the illumination of the work space from different directions and distributed LEDs arranged. In addition, regular background lighting can be achieved, for example, by arranging the LEDs so that their light cones overlap on the irradiated surface. Alternatively or additionally, LEDs with different angles of radiation can be used to achieve a comprehensive illumination, thus avoiding the often prevailing gloomy impression in fume cupboards and its negative impact on the user. Especially with regard to a reduced shadowing, it makes sense if the optical axes of at least one part of LEDs arranged adjacent to one another do not run parallel. The optical axes, which will usually coincide with the central axes of the light cone emanating from the LEDs, thus intersect, though not necessarily within the illuminated working space. Good lighting results are often achieved when LEDs located above the edges of the worktop are more likely to emit towards the center of the worktop, while more centrally located LEDs tend to emit light straight down.
The invention also includes the use of LEDs emitting at different wavelengths. For the basic lighting of the working space of the fume hood usually a lighting with white light will be used, which is preferably as similar to the daylight as possible. Currently, in the case of LEDs, two different methods are used for this purpose. On the one hand, LEDs that emit in the blue wavelength range are used to generate white light. These "blue" LEDs are provided with a light-emitting layer that converts part of the blue light into yellow. The superimposition of both wavelengths then produces white light (so-called luminescence conversion LEDs). On the other hand, several colored LEDs (RGB) are used together, whose emitted wavelengths combine to produce white light. In addition to the white light emitted by these white light LEDs, differently colored light can also be used for illumination. It is conceivable not to operate all but one LED of an RGB LED and thus to use their colored light. Alternatively, the targeted use of colored LEDs, which can be used only to illuminate portions of the work space. For example, the additional use of yellow LEDs is conceivable to provide a higher contrast of the illuminated areas. An improved three-dimensionality of irradiated objects can be achieved by irradiating them from different sides with light of different wavelengths. This is also known from the stage lighting or the illumination in microscopes. For example, an object can be irradiated from the left with red light, from the right with blue to make its spatial shape more perceptible.
In another variant of the use of colored light, the LEDs are used to illuminate the entire workspace or individual areas of the same color. For example, warnings issued by the fume hood (for malfunctions, etc.) can be optically clarified by emitting a color signal from one LED or several LEDs. By way of example, a red illumination of the working space, possibly as a flashing signal, called in case of alarm. A red illumination of the working space may also be useful in animal experiments so as not to expose such animals, which can not perceive red light (for example mice), to unnecessary stress due to continuous lighting.
The light intensity with which the working space as a whole or certain areas of the same is illuminated, can preferably be varied in the fume hood according to the invention. The possibility of increasing the illumination intensity by superposition of light of different LEDs has already been mentioned. Alternatively or additionally, however, it is also possible to change the illumination intensity by dimming and / or boosting the LEDs. For this purpose, at least one suitable control unit is expediently provided, with which either individual LEDs or a plurality of LEDs are controlled together and lowered in their power and / or can be raised. A dimming device makes it possible, for example, to lower the power of the LEDs when no user is working on the fume hood, which can be conveniently determined by means of a closed windshield. A reduced illumination intensity in such a case saves power, but on the other hand indicates that the fume hood is still in reduced operation. At the same time, a more pleasant working atmosphere in the room is taken care of. Quite generally, it is provided in the fume hood according to the invention to control the intensity and / or color of the light emitted by the LEDs depending on the operating state of the fume hood, for which purpose the control device present in the fume hood is preferably used.
