Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an apparatus for the evaporation or partial evaporation of liquids, wherein the droplet nitride is prevented by the overheated liquid, based on the pressure set in the evaporator, being sprayed via a specially shaped inlet tube to the cylindrical evaporator wall in such a way that a Trombe trains. As a result, on the one hand, a relatively large surface area is generated, from which the vapors can escape, and on the other hand, liquid drops are pressed by the centrifugal force generated by the rotational movement against the evaporator wall, thereby reducing the droplet infiltration. The apparatus according to the invention consists essentially of a cylindrical evaporator and the special inlet tube.
Liberating liquids by evaporation from volatiles or concentrating by evaporation of water is state of the art and belongs to the basics of thermal process engineering. During the evaporation, however, the problem arises that due to the material properties liquid droplets are entrained by the generated vapor of the more volatile component. Especially in the evaporation of multicomponent mixtures can also non-volatile or only slightly volatile components are discharged with the steam and contaminate the steam condensate or must be accepted as a loss of evaporation product.

The apparatus of the invention is intended to serve for evaporation or partial evaporation of liquids. The equipment should be designed so that it can also be used for larger evaporation rates. For this it is important that the entire evaporator area remains firmly mounted and the centrifugal forces required for droplet separation and surface enlargement are otherwise generated.
This requirement can be easily solved according to the invention. The apparatus of the invention consists of a cylindrical vertical evaporator having an eccentric nozzle, in which an inlet tube is mounted. The evaporator according to the invention tapers at the lower end, for example through a dished bottom or basket bottom, to the evaporator outlet to a much lower outlet cross section.
Surprisingly, it has been found that it is advantageous in the evaporation or partial evaporation of liquids, the liquid is not tangential, as known from the literature, but to initiate towards the vessel wall in the evaporator.

Furthermore, the inlet tube has a detachable connection D for the supply line for the superheated liquid. This detachable connection D is also shown here as a flange and is preferably carried out for the reasons already mentioned as a flange. But other connections are alternatively possible, since also here the function of the inlet tube is not affected. Again, a solid, for example, welded, connection is conceivable in principle.
The straight length B of the introduction tube used according to the invention is chosen so that it extends to the inner radius of the evaporator jacket after installation. From there, according to the invention, the inlet tube curves towards the inside wall of the evaporator with a curvature angle F according to the invention, between 5 ° and 85 °, preferably between 20 ° and 70 °, particularly preferably between 30 ° and 70 °. Surprisingly, it has been shown that it is advantageous if the inlet tube used according to the invention ends with a straight piece of pipe. The length of this section G is preferably between 0.5 times and 2 times the diameter of the inlet tube used according to the invention. By this straight tail, the formation of the trumpet is surprisingly positively influenced. The angle α between the imaginary extension of the straight end of the inlet tube and the tangent to the evaporator wall is according to the invention> 45 ° and <90 °, preferably between 50 ° and 70 °.
The liquid to be evaporated or concentrated is, based on the pressure prevailing in the evaporator, superheated, that is, heated above the corresponding boiling point. The evaporator is operated at overpressure or at a vacuum, depending on the liquid to be evaporated. The absolute pressure is between 5 mbar and 5000 mbar, preferably between 50 mbar and atmospheric pressure. In principle, it is also possible to work at even higher pressure. However, this offers no advantages for most liquids to be evaporated. To adjust the vacuum in vacuum operation, any vacuum pumps or emitters can be used according to the prior art.
The inventive evaporator can be used to particular advantage in the concentration of corrosive media. An example is the concentration of sulfuric acid. The evaporator according to the invention can be used for the entire concentration range of sulfuric acid. At a sulfuric acid concentration ≥ 60% H 2 SO 4 , the inventive evaporator is particularly well, because due to the density and viscosity of the sulfuric acid, the formation of the Trombe is supported. Due to the molecular mass difference of the water to be evaporated and the sulfuric acid to be separated, the centrifugal forces generated according to the invention also contribute particularly well to the separation of substances in this system. Of course, the same applies to other acids and salt solutions in which water is to be separated.
When using the evaporator for the concentration of sulfuric acid according to the invention is preferred as the material for the evaporator enameled steel used. Glass, PTFE-lined steel evaporators or other corrosion-resistant materials can also be used, but due to the boiling temperatures of sulfuric acid, enamelled steel is stable in a wider temperature and pressure range. The inlet tube according to the invention is preferably made of PTFE-coated steel in the concentration of sulfuric acid. Although enamelled steel is also usable, but due to the geometry of the inlet tube, a production is difficult. Tantalum or other corrosion-resistant materials can also be used.
