HINTERGRUNDBACKGROUND

Es ist nicht ungewöhnlich, Reihenmotoren mit 3 und 4 Zylindern anzutreffen, die viele mittlere bis kleine Fahrzeuge antreiben. Narrow angle V-motors offer some additional packaging benefits by placing pistons offset in offset banks, providing additional pistons and resulting power without unduly increasing the length of the engine pack. In such engines, however, the engine height may be compromised due to the use of a single cylinder head having a height that exceeds the height required for an in-line engine.
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG DER ERFINDUNGSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
