Eine optische Ausrichtung der Gehäuse zueinander ist für die Funktion des Lichtgitters notwendig, so dass die Lichtsender des Lichtgitters in die Lichtempfänger strahlen und der Sichtbereich der Lichtempfänger die Lichtsender erfasst. Zumeist ist dazu ein Verdrehen der länglichen Lichtgittergehäuse notwendig.
