Die erzeugten Schwingungen werden dabei unter Druck auf das zu schweißende Werkstück übertragen, wobei der zu schweißende Werkstoff aufgrund der Temperaturerhöhung erweicht und schmilzt. Generell zeichnet sich das Ultraschallschweißen durch sehr geringe Schweißzeiten und eine hohe Wirtschaftlichkeit aus.
