Description
The present invention relates to a non-combustible coating composition for application to a support, for example, ceilings and / or walls, a process for their preparation and the use of the coating composition.
Fire protection involves the goal of preventing the formation of fire, preventing its spread and minimizing its effects. Suitable building materials must take into account fire protection criteria.
Building materials, in particular natural, wall and ceiling coatings are subdivided in Germany according to their fire behavior into two building material classes according to DIN 4102 Part 4, where A non-combustible materials, A2 non-combustible materials with organic components, where evidence is required, and B includes flammable building materials; For example, B1 refers to flame retardant building materials.
The prior art contains a wide variety of application of building materials incorporated in coatings. These occur, for example, as a coating of natural, wall and ceiling surfaces. However, these coatings often do not meet the safety standards for certain exterior and / or interior spaces because they are classified as combustible building materials. A major disadvantage of many common coatings is thus their easy flammability.

The object of the present invention is in particular the provision of a non-combustible coating according to DIN 4102 A, which can be applied in one step as a refractory, sound-insulating and moisture-regulating coating on a solid surface, in particular walls and / or ceilings. This coating is used in particular to produce a functional protective, but also decorative effect that can be exploited for example for residential areas. It should be understood, however, that the present invention may be applied to other articles, particularly those which come in contact with water and heat. Furthermore, a method for the production and the use of said composition is to be specified.
The object is achieved according to the features of the independent claim 1 and the independent claims 8 and 10. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.
An essential point of the invention is that a non-combustible coating composition for application to a support, such as ceilings and / or walls, is provided, wherein the coating composition is present as a non-combustible mixture according to building material class A2 according to DIN 4102 and can be applied to the support, wherein the Coating composition comprising at least one mineral fiber and at least one binder, wherein the mineral fiber is of natural origin, wherein the at least one mineral fiber contains at least one component which consists of silicon dioxide and in an amount of 80-95% by mass, based on the total mass the coating composition, and the at least one binder at least partially contains carboxymethylcellulose in an amount of 5-15 mass%, based on the total mass of the coating composition. Thus, the specified coating can also be used in public buildings, in staircases, for escape routes and other safety-relevant structures, where a construction supervisory requirement according to DIN 4102 A2 exists.
In addition, the specified material proves to be heat and sound insulating and meets high standards of attractive living space.
The at least one binder preferably contains at least partially carboxymethylcellulose in a proportion of 8-12% by weight, in particular 10% by weight, based on the total mass of the coating composition.
The at least one mineral fiber contains at least one component consisting of silicon dioxide and in an amount of 80-95% by weight, preferably 85-90% by weight, in particular 90% by weight, based on the total mass of the coating composition, is included.
Silica is a natural, harmless and most abundant material in the earth's crust. As part of the cell walls of numerous plants, it is also contained in foods in varying amounts. It is also used in BIO products and pharmaceuticals. The human organism can not absorb or utilize silicon dioxide.
Advantageously, the at least one binder contains at least one further component which consists of at least one inorganic and / or organic pigment and in a proportion of 0-5 wt .-%, preferably 1-4 wt .-%, in particular 2 Ma.- %, based on the total mass of the coating composition. Alternatively or additionally, an effect pigment can be provided in the stated amount.
Overall, the specified material has high elasticity and good thermal-acoustic acoustic insulation properties.
Preferably, the coating composition has a thermal conductivity of at most 0.06 W / mK, preferably at most 0.04 W / mK. Preferably, the coating composition is dissolved in solvent, this solvent being most preferably water. Together with this solvent, the coating composition forms a spreadable mass. The process side, it is possible to mix the prepared compositions with a predetermined amount of water and apply the subsequent processable present mass in one step without waste and waste.
Thus, the material compensates for temperature fluctuations and stores above all the room heat. The heat can not penetrate so quickly into the ground or the outer wall and thus not lost. Also, the heated air can not rise so fast, since it is already stored in the lower area. This leads to a significant cost savings.
die Auswahl mindestens einer mineralischen Faser und/oder zumindest eines Bindemittels und ggf. eines anorganischen und/oder organischen Pigmentes und/oder Effektpigmentes;
das Mischen der ausgewählten Komponenten, wobei die mindestens eine mineralische Faser natürlichen Ursprungs ist und das Bindemittel zumindest teilweise als Carboxymethylcellulose in einem Anteil von 5–15 Ma.-%, bevorzugt 7–12 Ma.-%, insbesondere 10 Ma.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmasse der Beschichtungszusammensetzung, zugemischt wird und wobei die mineralische Faser mindestens eine Komponente enthält, die aus Siliciumdioxid besteht und in einem Anteil von 80–95 Ma.-%, bevorzugt 88–93 Ma.-%, insbesondere 90 Ma.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmasse der Beschichtungszusammensetzung, enthalten ist;
die Zugabe einer vorbestimmbaren Menge an Lösungsmittel zu der Mischung;
The inventive method for producing non-combustible coating compositions according to building material class A2 according to DIN 4102 for application to a support, in particular on walls and / or ceilings comprises
the selection of at least one mineral fiber and / or at least one binder and optionally an inorganic and / or organic pigment and / or effect pigment;
the mixing of the selected components, wherein the at least one mineral fiber is of natural origin and the binder at least partially as carboxymethylcellulose in a proportion of 5-15 wt .-%, preferably 7-12 wt .-%, in particular 10 wt .-%, based on the total mass of the coating composition, and wherein the mineral fiber contains at least one component which consists of silicon dioxide and in an amount of 80-95 wt .-%, preferably 88-93 wt .-%, in particular 90 Ma.- %, based on the total mass of the coating composition, is included;
the addition of a predeterminable amount of solvent to the mixture;
the mixing of the coating composition and
applying the coating composition to the support, wherein the support may have a precoating.
During processing, the addition of water from the fiber mixture results in a spreadable mass. As a result, the finished and dry surface can absorb and release moisture up to 1.5 l / m 2 .
The coating composition is then preferably dried, the coating thickness increasing. Drying should be rapid and can be accelerated with suitable equipment such as fans, dehumidifiers, and the like.
For example, the fiber mixture is mixed with water and applied by mechanical processing in pasty state in a thickness of about 1 mm on a wall or ceiling. During drying, the fiber material expands and thus the layer thickness increases to about 2 mm. This additionally protects the substrate of the coating.
The fiber structure has experience, a heat resistance of 750 ° C-1500 ° C, preferably 750 ° C-900 ° C and can be easily repaired in case of damage. A reduction in heat resistance usually results from the components of the binder. If these are incorporated, an aesthetic and attractive color design can be created in conjunction with the mineral fiber and the binder.
The use of a non-combustible coating composition according to the invention involves applying the coating composition to walls and / or ceilings or the like, the requirements of DIN 4102 A2 being met.
The coating composition according to the invention is used in particular to produce a non-combustible coating on the surface of articles. With the coating composition according to the invention a variety of surfaces can be coated, such as walls, ceilings or the like in the interior and exterior of construction equipment, especially for critical areas such as escape routes and the like in public areas, which should also be visually appealing and high quality.
Another, in particular optical, effect occurs in conjunction with additional dye pigments in the form of inorganic and / or organic pigments or effect pigments. If these are incorporated, aesthetically pleasing topcoats can be achieved in conjunction with the mineral fibers and the binder.
The different mixing ratios of the respective components of the coating composition are based essentially on the adhesion and the water and dirt resistance of the dry, coated carrier, but also on the elasticity and the behavior with respect to atmospheric moisture. The focus here is the fire resistance of the inventively coated surfaces.
Thus, the non-combustible coating composition according to the invention, the process for its preparation and the coated article prove to be an advantageous contribution to fire protection, in particular the paint and decor industry. The finished coating can be redissolved by water, which can be used to repair damaged areas
- I. Auswahl des Beschichtungsmaterials, welches eine nicht brennbare Mineralfaser aus Siliciumdioxid natürlichen Ursprungs, Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) und ggfs. anorganische und/oder organische Pigmente bzw. Effektpigmente enthält;
- II. (insbesondere gleichmäßiges) Mischen der ausgesuchten Materialien mit bestimmten Gewichtsanteilen und mit einem bestimmten Zeitfaktor;
- III. Zugabe eines Lösungsmittels, insbesondere von Wasser, mit einer bestimmten Literzahl;
- IV.
- VI. Trocknen bzw. Trocknenlassen der Beschichtung für einen vorgegebenen Zeitraum, der bevorzugt zwischen 18 Stunden und 5 Tagen, bevorzugt zwischen 2 Tagen und 4 Tagen und besonders bevorzugt bei mindestens 3 Tagen liegt. Das Trocknen kann bevorzugt mit Hilfe von Ventilatoren und/oder Luftentfeuchter durch Heizen und durch Lüften erfolgen;
- VII.
- I. Selection of the coating material which contains a nonflammable mineral fiber of silicon dioxide of natural origin, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and optionally inorganic and / or organic pigments or effect pigments;
- II. (In particular uniform) mixing of the selected materials with specific proportions by weight and with a specific time factor;
- III. Adding a solvent, especially water, with a certain number of liters;
- IV. Uniform mixing, in particular by hand, wherein the mixing process can in principle be carried out both by machine and by hand, but the fiber structure and the properties of the resulting coating can be affected by machining.
- V. (preferably) applying the pasty mixture manually, wherein the application is carried out with a thickness which is between 0.5 mm and 2 mm and preferably about 1 mm; and wherein the carrier may preferably have a pre-coating. This may be a background color that provides a white and, for example, the use of marble sand, a rough surface.
- VI. Drying or drying of the coating for a given period, which is preferably between 18 hours and 5 days, preferably between 2 days and 4 days, and more preferably at least 3 days. The drying can preferably be done by means of fans and / or dehumidifiers by heating and by airing;
- VII. During the drying process, the natural fibers expand and give a thickness of up to about 2 mm, as mentioned above.
A subsequent example of a coating composition is given: The fiber used is granular calcedone, which is obtained, for example, from crushed flint stones. Caldedone is a fibrous quartz of silica. Thus it fulfills the condition of a mineral fiber containing at least one component consisting of silicon dioxide. In this exemplary composition, this calcedone accounts for 88% by weight of the total composition. Further, a binding agent of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and titanium dioxide is compounded. The titanium dioxide is a white pigment that is mixed together in powder form with the sodium carboxymethylcellulose. The mass ratio of sodium carboxymethylcellulose to titanium dioxide is 10: 2. The entire composition thus consists of 88% granular Caldedonfaserkristallen, 2% titanium dioxide and 10% sodium carboxymethylcellulose. This mixture is not flammable.
