Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a container for a service fluid of a motor vehicle according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Such an operating fluid container is usually made of plastic or metal and usually arranged over a rear axle of the motor vehicle. In the event of a crash there is a risk that the operating fluid container will be compressed. As a result of the consequent reduction of the container volume, the pressure in the container increases, which in the end can lead to a failure of the container and to the escape of the operating fluid from the container. In particular, the escaping operating fluid may start to burn when, for example, it touches the hot exhaust system of the motor vehicle.

The invention is based on the object to provide a container for a working fluid of a motor vehicle, which has a high resistance in simple production in the event of a crash.
According to the invention the object is achieved by providing a container for a working fluid of a motor vehicle with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
In order to provide a container for an operating fluid of a motor vehicle, which has a high resistance in simple production in the event of a crash, the invention provides that the container wall is dimensionally stable and at least one device is formed, which substantially maintains the volume of the container in the deformation case. The container wall is made of metal, for example, preferably made of aluminum and / or steel. Embodiments of the container according to the invention are preferably suitable for use as an oil tank in a motor vehicle, which is arranged in the region of the vehicle engine in a high-temperature region. Advantageously, embodiments of the invention prevent a failure of the container in a structurally simple manner and without the use of additional components in that the device in the event of a crash compensates for the deformation-reducing volume of the container. By this measure, the pressure in the container can be kept low and the failure of the container can be prevented in an advantageous manner. In particular, in the event of a crash, no operating fluid exits the container via safety valves, which can significantly reduce the risk of fire.
In an embodiment of the container according to the invention it is provided that the at least one device comprises an inwardly directed to the volume of the container towards buckle, which bulges out in the deformation case of the container to maintain the volume to the outside. Advantageously, this results in a dimensionally stable or rigid container with concave, inwardly directed curvature, which bulges in the event of an accident or in the deformation case for volume compensation to the outside, without changing the size of the surface of the container wall at this point of the container , This means that the curvature of the invention in the container wall, which reduces the volume of the container in the normal state, fold out in the event of a crash or in the deformation case and thus can compensate for the lack of volume and pressure in the container.
In a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the curvature of the container wall automatically keeps in the bagged state. Advantageously, the volume required for the operating fluid in the container thus remains even after the deformation of the container without additional aids. As a result, the pressure in the container remains low and a failure of the container can be prevented.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing and will be described below.
