Description

The invention relates to a sitting and standing orthosis for the treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome with the features of claim 1.

The Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is considered to be an insomnia and sleep disorder due to symptomatic tingling, pulling or knotting in the calf: sufferers compulsively stretch the foot (contraction of the musculus triceps surae, etc.), as soon as they lie down, or jump up again, to move (restless legs). Only walking is free. RLS also occurs while sitting and standing.

The cause is unexplored. Therefore the following hypothesis has been developed:
During stretching, all three forms of energy actively participate in the movement. The stretching itself is passive, so that one speaks more precisely of being stretched. The three energetic contraction forms of the musculature are: the concentric (which creates a movement that requires a yielding of the opposite muscle group by lengthening), the eccentric (which delays the yielding there) and the isometric contraction (the con- centric and eccentric contraction fixed in a certain place, in a stalemate of their two powers).

The hypothesis is based solely on conclusions from the observation of the therapy.

To solve the problem, the following thesis should serve:
The Restless Legs Syndrome ends acutely with relaxation after stretching by force.

This is from the publication US 2007/0260164 A1 an orthopedic device used in irritated plantar footbands and Achilles tendons. It has a foot and ankle splint which has an adjustable pad in the forefoot area. So it is possible to raise the forefoot. This device does not yet allow the above-described interaction of the forces for contraction of the muscles in the foot and lower leg area.

With the device according to the invention, the problem to be solved is to enable such an interaction of the forces and to create a purely therapeutic remedy for the Restless Legs Syndrome with the orthosis.

This object is achieved with the features of claim 1. The subclaims give meaningful embodiments of the invention again.

The orthosis fulfills 2 functions:

The intensity of the eccentric contraction increases with the degree of stretching selected, in sync with the known and healthy linear strain pain. In the mechanical fixation through the orthosis, concentricity and eccentricity finally provoke the third form of energy and are measured against each other in isometric contraction in the stalemate of their forces. Die Kugeln werden durch Kletthaftung im Manschettenband individuell passend eingesetzt und können bei Druckermüdung ersetzt werden.
• • Ein 5 cm hohes Klötzchen (Holz) ist unter dem Fuß oder den Schuh anclippbar oder an einem Band unter Fuß oder Schuh angeklettet und hebt den Ballen. Als Längsdehungsenergie, (die bei der Liegeorthese das Spannband liefert), drückt hier die eigene Schwer- und Druckkraft des aufgestellten Beines im Sitzen oder Stehen die Ferse zu Boden. (In dieser yogischen Haltung mit einem Hilfsmittel lag die Idee für deren Mechanisierung).
• • Das Querdehnungsband kann auch zusätzlich zur Liege-Orthese nach der DE 10 2009 039 565 A1 (deren Offenbarungsgehalt hier ausdrücklich einbezogen wird) angelegt werden: im Sinne einer absoluten Maximierung der Dehnungsintensität oder Moderierung ihrer beider Einzelintensitäten durch die gleichzeitige Anwendung.
