Ähnliche Werte für die 0,2% – Dehngrenze und die Zugfestigkeit haben den Vorteil, dass das Beschlagteil praktisch keine plastische, sondern allenfalls eine elastische Verformbarkeit zeigt. Das lokale Harten, vorzugsweise Laserhärten oder Induktivhärten, sorgt für einen geringeren Verschleiß einzelner Bereiche des Beschlagteils. Die mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren hergestellten Beschlagteile sind daher insbesondere für Rastbeschläge geeignet, bei denen bestimmte Bereiche im Betrieb länger unter Last stehen und Relativbewegungen erfahren.
