Der erfindungsgemäße Türstopper weist zur Anordnung vor einer Tür einen wenigstens teilweise flächig ausgebildeten ersten Abschnitt mit einem Halteabschnitt auf. Im einfachsten Fall kann der Türstopper von oben auf den Griff oder die Klinke aufgesetzt werden, so dass die Aussparung Teile des Griffs oder der Klinke wenigstens teilweise umgibt. Ein an den ersten Abschnitt angrenzender Blockierabschnitt reicht in diesem Fall in den Spalt zwischen Tür und Türrahmen hinein.
