Die Erfindung beruht auf dem allgemeinen Gedanken, einen im Wesentlichen rechteckförmigen Rahmen als Tragegestell vorzusehen, aus welchem heraus eine Wanne des Einkaufskorbs auffaltbar und damit in deren Gebrauchszustand bringbar ist, so dass die Wanne des Einkaufskorbs in ihrem Nichtgebrauchszustand vollständig innerhalb des Rahmens und damit äußerst platzsparend angeordnet werden kann. Durch den an sich steifen Rahmen ist der erfindungsgemäße faltbare Einkaufskorb nicht nur in seinem Gebrauchszustand, sondern in gleichem Maße auch in seinem Nichtgebrauchszustand leicht handhabbar. Ein oberer Steg dieses Rahmens bildet dabei den Tragegriff des Einkaufskorbs, wobei die Wanne des Einkaufskorbs beidseitig aus dem Rahmen herausklappbar ist. Die Klappachse(n) der Wanne verläuft dabei im Bereich des unteren Stegs des Rahmens und damit parallel zum oberen Steg. Von weiterem großem Vorteil bei dem erfindungsgemäßen faltbaren Einkaufskorb ist, dass dieser zwischen einem Gebrauchszustand und einem Nichtgebrauchszustand äußerst einfach verstellbar ist, gleichzeitig aber sowohl im Gebrauchszustand als auch im Nichtgebrauchszustand eine sichere Handhabung möglich ist. Als Material für den erfindungsgemäßen faltbaren Einkaufskorb können im Bereich des Rahmens bspw. Holz, Kunststoff oder Aluminium eingesetzt werden, wobei für das flexible und faltbare Material der Wanne üblicherweise ein strapazierfähiges, schmutzabweisendes und zudem leicht reinigendes Polyestergewebe eingesetzt wird. Selbstverständlich können auch andere strapazierfähige und faltbare Materialien zur Ausbildung der Wanne herangezogen werden. Mit einem derartigen Materialmix kann der Einkaufskorb zudem vergleichsweise leicht ausgeführt werden, so dass das Gewicht des erfindungsgemäßen faltbaren Einkaufskorbs beim Einkaufen hauptsächlich durch das Gewicht der darin beförderten Güter bestimmt wird und nicht durch das Gewicht des Einkaufskorbs. Erfindungsgemäß weist dabei die Wanne zwei aus dem Rahmen herausklappbare Bodenteile auf, deren Klappachse im Bereich des unteren Stegs und parallel zum oberen Steg verlaufen, wobei an einer der Klappachse gegenüberliegenden Seite der Bodenteile jeweils eine um eine parallele zweite Klappachse klappbare Stirnwände vorgesehen sind.
