Description
This object is achieved by a vehicle display system according to
By the specified feature combination, it is advantageously possible according to the invention to achieve the object by reducing the number of optical elements on which a reflection or transmission of the light beam emitted by an imager or a display device takes place. In this way, the design effort is reduced, as well as the always occurring in a reflection or transmission losses. Therefore, the light output required for the projection of the display can be reduced, which in turn mitigates the imager placement constraints resulting from the need for heat dissipation for the power dissipation of the light source. The vehicle display system according to the invention or the projection display according to the invention accordingly consists of an imager which emits an image (in a first direction) which can be described as a light beam, which then firstly passes from a first mirror element (according to a second direction) in the direction of a second mirror element and subsequently from this (in a third direction) is reflected in the direction of the viewer. Due to the specified combination of features, it is advantageously possible according to the invention, the design effort for a vehicle display system with adjustable - especially höheneinstellbarem - virtual image even further reduced by the fact that to adjust to the respective height of the viewer height adjustment of (according to the third direction of the viewer is propagated) light beam is provided, which is achieved waiving any (adjustability) of the mechanism in the projection system by the image to be generated in its position, relative to the plane defined by the imager, slidably provided. Since the projection system must incorporate optical means to magnify the generated image to counteract the reduction effect produced by projection with the desired distance impression, the image shift is also detected by this magnification. Thus, only a small compared to the dimensions of the image displacement, for example, a few lines, the imager is required to allow the adjustment, so the height adjustment.
According to the present invention, it is provided that for setting the vehicle display system for different viewing positions of the user, a displacement of an image on the display device is provided perpendicular to a first direction of the light. As a result, the height adjustability of the virtual image can be achieved in a particularly simple manner.
Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention that the display device has both an electronic first display unit and a mechanically movable second display unit, in particular a movable pointer. As a result, it is possible according to the invention by the combination of an electronic and a mechanically movable display unit to achieve a very high contrast in the representation of the vehicle display system for particularly important and quickly to be detected information. Furthermore, it is also possible by means of the mechanically movable second display unit, a particularly high resolution, d. H. sharp edges and thus also an easy readability to achieve.
According to the invention, it is further preferred that the vehicle display system as a whole or at least a part of the vehicle display system is provided adaptable to different viewing positions of a user. This makes it possible that the function of the vehicle display system can be optimally adapted to the different needs of different users. In particular, the visibility of the information displayed on the vehicle display system is equally good for different sized users of the system.
According to the invention it is further preferred that the vehicle display system is associated with a detection means for detecting the viewing position of a user. In this way, it is advantageously possible according to the invention to determine this viewing position and to carry out an adaptation or adjustment of the vehicle display system to different positions, for example a head of a user. Likewise, according to the invention, it is advantageously possible to reduce the risk of the user falling asleep during a state of over-fatigue because, based on a detected specific change in position of the user's head, it is concluded that he is falling asleep or has fallen asleep. According to the invention, it is thus also possible that by means of a detection of the eye movement, the eye position and / or a detection of the eyelid the risk to the user can be reduced by falling asleep, for example by optimally adjusting an existing headrest.
According to the invention it is particularly preferred that the vehicle display system is provided arranged in the cockpit of the vehicle or that the vehicle display system is provided arranged in a headrest and / or in a backrest of the vehicle. In this way, it is advantageously possible according to the invention that a vehicle display system according to the invention is used both for a driver to display different information, such as the speed, the speed of the engine or the like, and a vehicle display system of entertainment built into, for example, the headrest or the seatback of the driver's seat a seated behind the driver viewer allows, for example, to watch a video or the like. Furthermore, it is preferred according to the invention to arrange the vehicle display system in the overhead console and / or in the center console (center information display).
Another object of the present invention is a method for operating a vehicle display system according to the invention, wherein the detection means associated with the vehicle display system is used to adapt the vehicle display system to different viewing positions of a user. This makes it possible in a particularly simple and intuitive way, always to allow optimal adaptation of the vehicle display system to the stature or the position, in particular the head of a user.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to embodiments shown in the drawing.
