The Invention has therefore set itself the task of supporting the View of a leader of one To improve transport in such a way that, in particular at Night vision gives the user only a small transfer between the actual Circumstances and the visual support is demanded.
Der entscheidende Vorteil der Erfindung liegt in der problemlosen Zuordnung der dargestellten Elemente zu den realen Objekten für den Verkehrsmittelführer, da sich beide bei Durchsicht durch den Combiner in Überlagerung miteinander befinden.to solution the task of the invention becomes a head-up display system according to claim 1 and a method for operating a head-up display system proposed according to claim 36. The respective dependent claims include advantageous developments of the invention. The invention extends also on such designs, not by explicit back references of the subclaims as Characteristic combinations are given. A combiner in the sense of Invention is regularly the Windscreen of a motor vehicle or other object to review for the leader of the means of transport. Under a relation between elements of the representation and real objects is any context, for example that the element of representation is a recording of the real object is. The element of representation can also be a simplified or symbolic one Graphic based on the real object, for example, a symbol for a tree or a human. The decisive advantage of the invention lies in the problem-free assignment of the displayed elements the real objects for the transport guide, since both overlap when viewed through the combiner to each other.
Especially is appropriate in this case, when the image forming unit has a controller, the is formed such that it at least some elements of the representation assigns to the real objects. In this way it is possible, especially targeted to reflect the information about the real objects in the field of view of the observer, since the controller first the real objects are limited and in just these limits the elements the representation in the places where the real object can be seen, into the field of vision of the observer.
In order to also persons of different sizes or more preferred Sitting position in a transport always an acceptable representation in the head-up display receive, it is appropriate if a preferred perceptual space for viewing the presentation adjustable in vertical and horizontal position, by the emission direction and / or the placement location of the imaging unit is adjustable. The mechanical complexity of an adjustable design reduced when the image forming unit is formed such that the position of the representation and / or the position of elements in the illustration in terms of vertical and / or horizontal Alignment is adjustable. So that by the combiner or the Windshield predetermined geometric boundary conditions correctly considered be, it makes sense if the image forming unit designed in such a way is that a vertical distortion and / or a horizontal distortion the display of elements in the representation is adjustable. These Presentation can also be done by means of a manual adjustment or be done automatically.
A particularly useful embodiment of the invention is given by the fact that the images generating unit generates two images, wherein a first image is assigned to the left eye and a second image to the right eye of the observer and the first image and the second image respectively contain first and second elements which refer to the same real objects, which first Elements in the first image are each emitted with an offset to the corresponding second elements in the second image, which offset is selected such that first elements of the first image and second elements of the second image are viewed from the left and the right eye, respectively the respectively assigned real objects of the environment are each in overlap. This approach is accompanied by the decisive advantage that the displayed elements from the viewer's point of view are displayed completely offset from the real objects to which they are assigned, and at the same time connected to the right depth impression of the illustrated elements with respect to the real objects arises. In this case, it is conceivable that not all illustrated elements to real objects undergo an abstract assignment, but an image of the reality is reflected in the field of view of the viewer and at the same time some significantly represented elements to real objects from the controller are abstractly associated with the possibly one Highlighted. For example, the controller can visually emphasize a vulnerable pedestrian in the area of the roadway.
The picture quality gets particularly high when the overlap each almost complete is.
Entsprechend kann die Position des darzustellenden Ausschnitts in dem gesamten Aufzeichnungsbild des Kamerasensors von der Blickrichtung des Betrachters abhängig sein.to support an automatic adaptation to individual optically relevant Geometries of the viewer, it makes sense if the system has a Eye recognition unit comprises, which is designed such that they are the eye position or the pupil position of the observer detected. It is particularly advantageous if the gaze recognition unit also the viewing direction and / or the focus point of the viewer can capture. Based on these measurements, the controller the image forming unit the location of the display of the elements in the Depiction in dependence from the geometric location of the eyes and / or the eye relief and / or the arrangement of the combiner and / or the arrangement of the image forming unit determine the combiner or the eyes. For a particularly accurate representation is the consideration all this parameter is appropriate. Appropriately determined the controller controls the location of the display so that it is on the line of sight between the corresponding real object and at least one eye or a center between the two eyes of the beholder. The second option This corresponds to a cost-saving simplification, in which indeed a largely contact analog representation is achieved, however is dispensed with a stereoscopic depth impression. A appropriate simplification a representation with stereoscopic depth impression results, if the elements in the first image to the elements in the second Picture one above each the entire first or entire second image have constant offset. In comparison to this possibility The representation of the depth impression is more convincing when the offset of the elements in the first image to the elements in the second Image of the location of the ad in the first image and the second, respectively Image and / or is dependent on the location of the representation. For correct placement of the elements in the presentation, it may be useful if a Control unit of the image forming unit with an environmental sensor system communicates the information about real objects of the environment receives. For this purpose, the environmental sensor system at least a first Include camera sensor which captures the real objects of the environment, with the camera sensor advantageously near the head of the viewer can be arranged. For example, is the distance of the real Object to which elements of the representation are assigned known so the offset between the representations of the corresponding Elements in the first to those of the second image are chosen such that the viewer a real, the distance corresponding depth impression this representation arises. Is the camera sensor in range of the observer's head, are only minor transformations of the picture required. Similar Advantages are provided by an arrangement of a camera sensor near the central rearview mirror a motor vehicle. Thus the admission also a change can follow the viewer's direction, it makes sense when the camera sensor is movable with respect to its target direction of recording is trained. Here, the camera sensor from a controller be designed alignable, the controller preferably such is formed, that the camera sensor depending on the viewing direction the viewer is trackable. Another possibility the, in relation to the viewing direction of the viewer relevant section of the Record environment is that only a selected section the recording image of the camera sensor in the field of view of the viewer is emitted. The camera is preferably designed in this case that essentially the entire relevant line of sight is captured by the recording and in this way no tracking of the camera more is necessary. Accordingly, the position of the displayed Detail in the entire recording image of the camera sensor be dependent on the viewing direction of the viewer.
An additional advantageous embodiment provides that the size of the section in the entire recording image of the camera sensor of the speed of the motor vehicle is dependent. Since the attention of the leader of the means of transport with increasing vehicle speed focuses more in the direction of travel, it makes sense if both the recording of the camera sensor and the display in the head-up display focus on this area. For better detection of the environment, it is expedient if, in addition to the first camera sensor, a second camera sensor is also provided, which is arranged at a horizontal distance from the first camera sensor. By means of the combination of the two camera sensors, a measurement of the distance to real objects can already be made. In addition, it is also possible to realize the stereoscopic impression in the representation of the elements by means of the head-up display by simple reproduction of the two shot images of the camera sensors. This solution requires particularly little effort in terms of image analysis and the identification of real objects in the recording image. Suitably, at least one camera sensor which takes up the environment, preferably an infrared camera.
In order to it does not cause disturbing overlays of the first picture with the second picture on the eyes of the beholder comes, it makes sense if additional optical elements on the imaging unit the emission of the separate the first picture from that of the second picture. This can be advantageous Lenses as additional optical elements are used, which together form a lens array form.
Appropriately the system comprises a sight-line sensor, which is designed in such a way that they are contactless the head position and / or the eye position and / or the pupil position and / or the viewing direction of the viewer, in particular by means of a third Camera sensor, measuring recognizes or locates. Such camera sensors can be special can be advantageously designed as infrared camera sensors. A controller The image-forming unit may be designed such that it a correction factor for provides the offset, the dependent from a distance to the real object to which the corresponding is assigned in two images to be displayed element. Alternatively or additionally to camera sensors, the ambient sensor can also at least one Lidarsensor or radar sensor having a distance, in particular of the motor vehicle, intended for the real objects and to the Control transmitted. Accordingly The control can be at a very short distance to real Objects the representation according to assigned elements with one for that particularly close to a suitable stereoscopic offset.
Around the leader of the means of transport should not be burdened with unnecessary information, it is useful if the controller is designed such that a reduction of the elements in the presentation to those with a reference to certain selected real Objects is provided.
Versatz zwischen dem ersten Bild und dem zweiten Bild ist es sinnvoll, wenn ein Bedienelement vorgesehen ist, mittels dessen der Versatz des ersten Bildes zu dem zweiten Bild einstellbar ist.in the Individually, the image-forming unit can be designed in such a way that arranged in columns and rows pixels are provided and a controller of the image forming unit, the first image and the second image alternately column by column or alternately row by row represents by means of individual pixels of the image generation unit. Alternatively or in addition to an automatically generated depth impression or offset between the first picture and the second picture, it makes sense if a control is provided, by means of which the offset of the first image to the second picture is adjustable.
A method according to the invention provides that an environmental sensor system receives information about real objects of the environment, an image generation unit emits visual elements based at least on sections of these information into the field of view of a viewer by means of a combiner, at least some of the elements are displayed to the viewer refer to those real objects of the environment, which appear when viewed through the combiner the viewer in overlay with the area of representation, these elements are emitted from the image generating unit so targeted in the field of view of the beholder that they are with the respective real objects from view of the viewer are at least partially in overlap. Suitably, the overlap is achieved in that a gaze detection unit detects the pupil position or eye position of the observer and transmits it to a controller of the image generation unit, which determines the elements to be displayed and which determines the location of the display of the elements in the representation. Preferably, the image generation unit stereoscopically displays the representation to the viewer. The impression of depth thus gained simplifies the observer's assignment of the represented elements to the real objects. Suitably, the stereoscopic display is realized in such a way that the image generating unit generates two images, wherein a first image is assigned to the left eye and a second image to the right eye of the observer, wherein the first and the second image to be displayed in the same real objects associated elements contain which elements in the first image are each emitted with an offset to the corresponding elements in the second image, so that due to this stereoscopic display the viewer a depth impression is mediated. Suitably, the offset between the images is selected such that in each case one eye of the Viewer perceives an image with real objects of the environment without offset. Particularly useful is a stereoscopic recording of the environmental sensor system and a corresponding reproduction of these recordings by means of the image generation unit of at least selected elements of these recordings in stereoscopic representation. The stereoscopic display can be sensibly carried out by means of two camera sensors, which are arranged horizontally spaced from each other and whose target direction of the recording is directed substantially parallel to each other. The camera sensors can provide the imaging unit with a record of how a few human eyes perceive the environment. In the reproduction, it is expedient if the first image is essentially based on the recording of the first camera sensor and the second image is based essentially on the recording of the second camera sensor. However, it is also conceivable to offset both images in a more cost-effective embodiment, but to mirror them in the same way from the image generation unit into the field of vision of the observer. If only a certain depth impression of the elements of the representation is desired, the image generation unit can provide the elements in the images to one another with a constant offset. In addition, it is conceivable that the environmental sensor system detects a distance of real objects and when falling below a certain threshold distance, the offset between the two images of the representation changed so that the viewer perceives the elements as closer and in this way, for example, against sources of danger in the vicinity better is warned. A particularly precise coverage of the elements to be displayed with the real objects of the environment is achieved in that the location of the display, the elements in the representation depending on the geometric location of the eyes and / or the eye relief and / or the arrangement of the combiner and / or the arrangement of the image generating unit to the combiner or the eyes in relation to the geometric position of the real objects is determined by a controller.
