Die Erfindung nutzt hierbei die Überlegung, dass bei einzelnen Strahlern die Beleuchtungsintensität mit dem Abstand abnimmt, weil sich der jeweilige Beleuchtungsstrahl mit zunehmenden Abstand aufweitet. Bei einer Vielzahl von nebeneinander angeordneten Strahlern kompensiert sich dieser Effekt, da die durch Streuung reduzierte Beleuchtungsstärke des einzelnen Strahlers durch das Streulicht benachbarter Strahler wieder erhöht wird. Durch die allseitige Anordnung der UV-Strahler und ggf. durch die Verwendung einer geeigneten Reflektortechnik, nimmt die Belichtungsstärke der UV-Bestrahlung zur Raummitte hin im Unterschied zu Einzelstrahlern nicht ab und ermöglicht dadurch eine abstandsunabhängige Belichtung. Die Belichtung bzw. die Härtung der lackierten Oberflächen des jeweiligen Bauteils lassen sich dadurch gleichmäßiger realisieren, wodurch der Belichtungsprozess insgesamt zuverlässiger arbeitet. Überraschenderweise hat sich gezeigt, dass zur Realisierung einer vorbestimmten UV-Belichtungsstrahlungsdosis beim vorgeschlagenen Belichtungsraum die hierzu erforderliche Gesamtleistung aller UV-Strahler sowie die Einzelleistung der einzelnen UV-Strahler gegenüber der herkömmlichen Technologie mit singulären Strahlern deutlich reduziert werden kann. Durch die erreichte Leistungsreduzierung wird auch der Kühlbedarf erheblich reduziert.
