Description
The invention relates to a method and a sensor for detecting defects in buried pipelines for gaseous or liquid media, wherein electrical monitoring lines are attached to the pipes.
Underground pipelines are used in numerous applications. Electricity, water, sewage and gases are transported underground in many areas. To ensure that no damage occurs or are immediately detected, the integrity of the sheath is often monitored with parallel electrically conductive tapes or wires.
The invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus of the type mentioned, with which by means of sensors disturbances on buried pipelines can be detected without a conductive connection to these sensors is required and mounted the sensors with little effort in the pipe installation can be.
According to the invention the object is achieved with a method which has the features specified in claim 1 and with a sensor which contains the features specified in claim 4.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen sind in den Unteransprüchen angegeben.Advantageous embodiments are specified in the subclaims.
According to the detection of the emerging media with a sensor. Since the operation of most sensors requires electrical energy, it must be supplied. The energy supply via cable has the disadvantage that in buried system electrical connections must be created on site, which often fail due to corrosion.
In the solution according to the invention, a sensor for gaseous or liquid medium is used, which is moisture-proof mounted in the ground so buried lines that it is powered by electrical, dielectric or magnetic fields with energy and at the same time allows data exchange with a parent station, without previously to realize a mechanical connection between the sensor system and the pipeline. For this purpose, a special marking is provided on the pipeline to which the sensor must be attached during installation to ensure safe operation. The sensor used is preferably a sensor which detects the propagation time of the sound propagation. The connection between tube and sensor housing is advantageously made via a snap-in connection, so that an optimal energy transport is guaranteed.
The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment.
A mounted on a buried pipe monitoring line is supplied with a current that energizes the sensor via a physical field. The arrangement contains a sensor that evaluates the propagation time of the sound propagation. The speed of sound propagation depends on the respective medium, so that the escape of liquid or gaseous substances from the pipeline to be monitored can be detected in its surroundings. The sensor is located at the measuring location so that it is interchangeable. For this purpose, a snap-in connection can be attached to the sensor housing. It is also advantageous if an envelope or protective tube be mounted in the tube, the end of which contains an injected coil, which is acted upon by a frequency of 10-20 kHz. This makes it possible to both energize the sensor and to locate its position. It is therefore also possible to change the sensor from the house connection side. For this purpose, the sensor is attached to the end of a cable, which is designed by the diameter so that it can be pushed into the cladding tube. For proper positioning of the sensor, a mark is attached to the designated place. The marking is designed by color markings or mechanical markings so that it is easily recognizable during the burial work.
