Das Tagfahrlicht wird dabei durch ein deutlich gedimmtes Fahr- oder Fernlicht und durch das von der ringförmigen Stirnfläche ungedimmt abgestrahlte Licht gebildet. Damit werden auf einfache Weise zwei Anforderungen an das Tagfahrlicht erfüllt, nämlich die Forderung nach einer Mindestabstrahlfläche für dieses und die Forderung nach einem Erregen der Aufmerksamkeit des entgegenkommenden Verkehrs, ohne diesen zu blenden. Letztere Forderung wird durch das gedimmte Fahr- oder Fernlicht und das ungedimmte ringförmig abgestrahlte Licht erfüllt, das diffus ist und als Ring ersteres umgibt und einrahmt. Zusätzliche Beleuchtungseinrichungen zur Darstellung des Tagfahrlichtes werden dadurch nicht benötigt. Ein weiterer Vorteil der Anordnung des Hohlkörpers liegt darin, dass dieser den eingeschlossenen Tubus vor Beschädigungen und Verschmutzung schützt. Vorteilhaft werden das Fahr- und/oder Fernlicht und auch das Tagfahrlicht jeweils durch eine Vielzahl von LED's erzeugt, wobei die LED's zur Erzeugung des Tagfahrlichtes an einer im Abstand von der fahrzeugfrontseitigen Stirnfläche ausgebildeten ringförmigen Lichteinkoppelfläche angeordnet sind.
