By means of two handle plates, which are each attached to the pre-split proximal end of the cannula, the cannula can be divided by force introduction at right angles to the longitudinal axis, along the weakening grooves in half. (no patent specification found !?) - 3) a.) A cannula consisting of a tube section with longitudinal axis, distal and proximal end and an inner and outer wall.
- b.) One or more weakening grooves formed along the inner wall and parallel to the longitudinal axis.
- c.) The pipe section is made by the sequential steps: forming grooves in a flat material with parallel edges and a thickness of 2/1000 to 8/1000 inches. By rolling the flat material to form the tube and then reducing it to a uniform tube diameter of 14-36 gauge with closed and aligned edges and closed grooves in the inner wall of about 30-60% thickness of the flat 304-316 stainless steel material , The cannula length is approximately ¾-6 "Hardening of the tube and friability of the grooves and closed edges is achieved by rolling and cold drawing, and the cannula is force-fed at right angles by means of two handle plates, each attached to the pre-split proximal end of the cannula to the longitudinal axis, split in half along the weakening grooves (US Patent No. 4,449,973 issued May 22, 1984 to Luther Medical Products Inc.)

The
Invention presented here allows cannulas with
different diameters, in usual production processes
were prepared, by a forming process the cleavage to
enable.
Verfahren zur Herstellung
einer teilbaren Kanüle
mit „innenliegenden" Sollbruchstellen
durch Umformen.Process for the preparation
a divisible cannula
with "internal" predetermined breaking points
by reshaping.
Dadurch entstehen zwei gegenüberliegende, in
in diesem Bereich speziell geformt. Die innenliegende Sollbruchstelle
endet somit ca. 1–2
mm vor der Kanülenspitze
(siehe 2).
The method for producing a splittable puncture cannula, which is described as follows, serves to create two internal predetermined breaking points, by means of a chipless forming process, along the inner wall of the cannulas. These predetermined breaking points are determined by a specially shaped embossing core pin (pos. 1 3 ), which in the inner diameter of the cannula (pos. 2 3 ). After inserting the embossing core pin into the puncture cannula, both parts (pos. 1 and 2 3 ) on the lower jaws (Pos. 4 3 ) of an embossing tool. In order to reproducibly ensure the position of the predetermined breaking points for cannula grinding of the puncture cannula, both the embossing core pin and the cannula (Pos. 4 2 ) of the puncture cannula via a centering device within the tool aligned with each other. The cannula wall is replaced by the right-angled application of a deformation force over the upper jaw (pos. 3 4 ) is reduced over the entire cannula length to a few 1/100 millimeters in the region of the predetermined breaking point. This results in two opposite, extending in the longitudinal direction to the central axis of the puncture cannula grooves, which ensure the divisibility (pos. 3 and pos. 4 2 ). In order not to change the geometrical shape of the cannula cut by the deformation, the embossing core pin is specially shaped in this area. The internal predetermined breaking point thus ends about 1-2 mm in front of the cannula tip (see 2 ). This avoids that the Einschneidverhalten the cannula ground by the resulting edges, which would inevitably arise at the outlet of the predetermined breaking point from the cannula ground, negatively changed.
Dies
basiert auf der elastischen Verformbarkeit des Kanülenrohres.
Aufgrund dieser Rückfederung
kann der Prägekernstift
relativ leicht aus dem Kanülen-Innendurchmesser
entfernt werden. After completion of the introduction of force, the pressure jaws (pos. 3 and 4 5 ) moved back to their normal position. This results in the formation of the elliptical deformation of the cannula diameter, which has been created by shaping the predetermined breaking points into the cannula wall (see 5 ), back again. This is based on the elastic deformability of the cannula tube. Due to this resilience, the embossing core pin can be relatively easily removed from the cannula inner diameter.
