Abstract
The starter and power supply system of the motor vehicle has an electric starter motor (8) for connection to an electrical energy storage device containing at least one capacitor (14) and at least one accumulator (16) and a generator (12) driven by an internal combustion engine for supplying energy while the engine is running. The electrical energy storage device has switch (18) for variable connecting the capacitor and/or the accumulator to the starter motor and/or to the generator depending on parameters such as the voltage differences in the energy storage device. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling a starter and power supply system of a motor vehicle.
