Abstract

The internal combustion engine has two fuel tanks, one holding low pressure fuel (11) and one holding medium pressure fuel (2). Fuel pumps deliver the fuels to an injection system through a dosing device. The fuel mixture during engine running is created continuously in a dosing and mixing valve (20) and the mixing ratio of the fuels can be simultaneously influenced through a control unit (40). The surplus volume of fuel mixture after the HP pump (30) is cooled in a cooler (22), and after that is fed again to the fuel circuit downstream of the mixing device and before the HP pump.
