Unterhalb des Halterahmens sind Kufen angebracht, die im Betrieb über Rollen gleiten, so dass Transportskid mit der darauf angeordneten Karosserie auf einfache Weise durch ein Tauchbad hindurchbewegt werden kann. Bei dem Transport durch das Tauchbad wird die Karosserie sowie der Transportskid elektrochemisch beschichtet. Durch den Transport des Transportskids auf Rollenbahnen erfolgt ein mechanischer Abtrag von Lack an den zuvor beschichteten Kufen des Transportskids, wodurch die Rollen, auf denen die Kufen gleiten, stark verschmutzt werden. Damit ein störungsfreier Betrieb erfolgen kann, müssen diese Rollen ständig bzw. in kurzen Intervallen gereinigt werden.
