Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
The main patent application relates to a process to make infrared rays visible by eliminating the previous detours via electron tube devices and the like. It allows infrared rays to be used without the interposition of photographic To make intake and its development immediately visible on a luminescent screen.
According to the procedure of the main patent application, the infrared rays are made visible by that one consists of a zinc sulfide copper layer ίο upright fluorescent screen is first sensitized by exposure to deuterons. This Screen is now, while it is exposed to infrared radiation, z. B. in a camera-like Device, simultaneously irradiated with ultraviolet light and thereby excited. To the. Put the screen that Are hit by the infrared rays, the effect of the ultraviolet rays is greatly attenuated or completely canceled, so the infrared irradiated parts of the screen are opposite the other parts of the screen surface are dark in appearance.
Zur Durchführung des Verfahrens Verfahren und VorrichtungIt has now been shown that this method can be used to advantage in order to carry out a reversal of photographic transparency images in such a way that their viewing is possible in reversed brightness values. Earlier it was proposed for this purpose also to use a zinc sulfide copper screen with ultraviolet excitation and at the same time to let infrared light fall onto this screen through a negative. It was thus also allows image reversal, but the known methods and the equipment used for their implementation could therefore not be introduced because the expended energy of the infrared radiation that is essentially still a radiant heat was too large to without damaging the negative material allow other than brief viewing of the image. This occurs in particular when the negative image is to be projected onto a screen, since the infrared energy to be used would have to be increased quadratically depending on the distance to the screen. According to the invention, on the other hand, viewing times of any length and a large projection distance with reversal of the brightness values are achieved in that a zinc sulfide copper layer sensitized by deuteron radiation is used as the projection screen, whereby a negative film is penetrated by infrared and the transmitted rays are captured on the screen, while this itself is simultaneously exposed to ultraviolet radiation. kann eine kopiergerätähnliche Vorrichtung an sich bekannter Bauart benutzt werden, wenn darin eine Infrarotquelle zur Durchstrahlung des Negativbildes und ein erregter Leuchtschirm, vorgesehen sind. Ebenso kann auch ein Projektionsgerät benutzt werden, unter Anwendung einer Infrarotquelle als Projektionslampe, wobei dann der Bildschirm in an sich bekannter Weise getrennt von dem Gerät angeordnet und durch eine Ultraviolettstrahlung erregt wird.a copier-like device of known type can be used if a Infrared source for irradiating the negative image and an excited luminescent screen are provided. as well a projection device can also be used under Use of an infrared source as a projection lamp, then the screen in itself is known Way separated from the device and excited by ultraviolet radiation.
Es zeigtIn the drawing the procedure is: using the example two such devices, which are illustrated in a schematic representation, explained. It shows
Fig. 1 im Längsschnitt eine Vorrichtung zur Betrachtung eines Films in seiner natürlichen Größe,Fig. 1 in longitudinal section a device for viewing a film in its natural size,
Fig. 2, also in a longitudinal section, an embodiment of the device which is used to project the film permitted on any scale.
Wird die Infrarot- A fluorescent screen I 1 la sensitized by deuteron irradiation according to the method of the main patent application , consisting of a zinc sulfide copper layer 1 and a carrier layer 1 a permeable to infrared rays, is arranged according to FIG. In the housing part 2 is an infrared radiation source 3 a is attached, and so on that a permeable also for infrared rays image stage 7 for receiving, for example, a negative film 8. This negative film is located in folded down screen 1, la in close contact with. this. If the infrared

When the radiation source is activated, its radiation penetrates the film 8 in accordance with its different permeability, that is to say as a function of the brightness values of the film image. An ultraviolet radiation source 5, which is fed from any desired power source, is arranged above the luminescent screen 1, la. Since the infrared rays striking the luminescent screen appear black on a green luminous background when the luminescent screen 1, 1 α is simultaneously illuminated, the brightness values of the film image are reversed. In this way, either a negative film can be viewed as a positive image or vice versa, without a copying process with development or a reversal of the film image itself having to be carried out in a photochemical process, as was previously the case. There is therefore no change in the negative image itself, so that it can still be used for copying and enlargement purposes.
However, there is also the possibility of making the arrangement according to FIG. 2 in such a way that the film can be projected and thus viewed on an enlarged scale. In this case, the image stage 7 with the film 8 is arranged in a housing 2 which has a projection object 3. An infrared radiation source 3 a is arranged above the film, it also being possible for a capacitor 9 to be located between the film 8 and this radiation source Z a. The luminescent screen 1, 1 α is then arranged below the lens 3 at a corresponding distance as a projection surface. Advantageously, the carrier layer 1 α of the luminescent screen made of a material such as UV glass or the like that is permeable to UV light or quartz is arranged in such a way that the UV source 5 can be located below the luminescent screen 1, la .
