Description
The invention relates to a device for the homogenization of crushable laboratory samples according to the generic term of claim 1.
The device for homogenization according to the invention of crushable laboratory samples is intended for very small quantities, for example for bovine brain samples for BSE tests. Furthermore, the homogenizing device according to the invention exists made of plastic for single use.
A known device for homogenizing of crushable laboratory samples has an outer shaft tube in which a rotor shaft is rotatably supported. This rotor shaft is driven by means of a connectable motor. At the lower end the rotor shaft faces a specially designed shredding area. The homogenizer is into the sample container from above immersed in which the sample material is located. This sample container is relatively large in volume. Besides, is the diameter of the shaft tube is relatively small. The resulting one Problem is that it takes about 60 seconds for the sample to be homogenized is homogenized. Moreover there is a risk that sample material sprayed. This is particularly the case with infectious sample material unacceptable.

The invention is based, which Device for the homogenization of crushable laboratory samples of the continue to develop the type specified at the outset such that the danger the escape of parts of the laboratory sample is prevented.
The technical solution is characterized by the features in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
The device according to the invention for the homogenization of comminutable laboratory samples is distinguished by its high functionality. The idea of the invention is to connect the homogenizing device to a reagent-like container in which the laboratory sample is located. The basic idea of the arrangement and fastening of the reagent-like container on the shaft tube lies in a type of fastening ring which surrounds the shaft tube at a distance. The inner diameter of this fastening ring corresponds approximately to the outer diameter of the container in this fastening area. This sleeve-like fastening ring is held by an upper-side ring disk, which also serves as a container lid after the container has been inserted. This creates a simple possibility to arrange the container on the shaft tube on the one hand and to provide the container with a lid in the sense of a closed system on the other hand. Basically, the homogenizing device consists of only three individual parts made of plastic, namely the shaft tube and the rotor wave and finally the test tube-like container. The shaft tube with the rotor shaft is inserted into the container and connected to the shaft tube in its opening area. This creates a closed system without the risk of homogenized parts of the laboratory sample escaping. Since the volume of the test tube-like container is not too large and the inside diameter is only slightly larger than the diameter of the shaft tube, the laboratory sample to be homogenized is concentrated on a comparatively small volume. This considerably reduces the homogenization time compared to the prior art, on the order of magnitude to approximately 4 seconds. The container, which is attached to the shaft tube, can be removed to fill in the medium to be processed. For processing, the container filled with the laboratory sample is reattached to the shaft tube. The lower end of the rotor shaft and the shaft tube are immersed in the laboratory sample. The rotor shaft rotates in the center of the shaft tube. A slot in the rotor shaft sucks the medium axially and pushes it outwards through slots in the shaft tube. The homogenized laboratory sample can then be removed from the container. Overall, the homogenizer with its three individual parts is made of plastic and is intended for single use.
The further training thereof according to claim 2 has the advantage that Complete system consisting of shaft tube and fastening ring (including container lid) can be produced in a single injection process.
The training according to claim 3 strikes two possibilities for fastening the container on the mounting ring. When screwing in the container this can be screwed in until it touches a stop. This usually becomes the container lid his. When inserted, a frictional engagement between the inside of the Fastening ring and the outer wall of the container created.
The training according to claim 4 improves the special design of the container Homogenization. According to this Training is the container trained so that he Area of the upper edge of the shredding area a diameter jump makes so the crushing area immerses the rotor shaft in the homogenization area of the container. equally the filling height is defined up to this jump in diameter. Foams when homogenizing Laboratory sample and then collects in the expanded upper area of the container. Thus, overall, in the area of the shaft tube, where the homogenization takes place, the container wall guided at a close distance around the shaft tube. This guarantees a continuous Mix and run to an inevitable Flow through the laboratory sample through the shaft tube-rotor shaft combination, so that the laboratory sample is optimally homogenized within a few seconds. Thereby, that the upper part of the container a larger diameter than the lower part of the container has, the filling of the container relieved with the laboratory sample. In addition, the increase in Medium levels in the homogenization process upwards, i.e. towards the container lid prevented.
The training according to claim 5 finally creates a technically simple way to connect the Actuator motor. This connection is designed so that he in a vertical position in the adapter, which is located on the drive motor, inserted up to the stop and is fixed at the same time. At the same time, the upper shaft end engages Rotor shaft into the driver clutch of the motor.
