Die gattungbildende DE 199 40 102 A1 beschreibt eine Abgasleitung, deren Endrohrblende über einen federnden Distanzring an einer aus Kunststoff bestehenden Stoßfängerabdeckung gehalten ist. Dieser federnde Distanzring erstreckt sich zwischen der Außenfläche der Blende einerseits und der Innenfläche eines bezüglich des Fahrzeugs nach vorn weisenden Stutzens an der Stoßfängerabdeckung andererseits. In die Blende ragt ein anschließendes Abgasrohr der Abgasleitung unter Wahrung eines wärmeisolierenden Spalts hinein, wobei dieser Spalt durch Ejektorwirkung im Fahrbetrieb dem heißen Abgas Kühlluft zuführt, wodurch die Wärmebelastung des Kunststoffs der Stoßfängerabdeckung wesentlich reduziert wird. Diesbezüglich wesentlich wirksamer dürfte die aus der DE 199 02 310 A1 bekannte Konstruktion sein, in der die Blende als Diffusorblende ausgelegt ist, d. h. sie einen in Richtung nach hinten zunehmenden Querschnitt besitzt.
