Um neue oder schon gebrauchte Gährbottiche mit Paraffin zu imprägniren, werden dieselben, nachdem sie an der Luft gut ausgetrocknet sind, mit dem offenen Ende nach unten so lange über ein Kohlenbecken gesetzt, oder auf andere Weise so lange von innen erhitzt, bis sich die Fafsdauben von aufsen heifs anfühlen. Alsdann werden die Bottiche mit geschmolzenem heifsen Paraffin im Innern getränkt, was durch Auftragen mit einem Pinsel geschieht.
