Damit der Querbalken Biege- und Torsionskräfte möglichst gut widerstehen kann, weisen die Pfosten zusätzlich zu den stirnseitigen Vertikalführungen an den einander zugewandten Seiten jeweils eine weitere Vertikalführung auf, an denen der Querbalken geführt ist. Durch diese Gestaltung ergibt es sich, daß die Torsionskräfte zwischen den Pfosten in die Pfosten eingeleitet werden. Dadurch kann die ohnehin zur Erhöhung der Biegesteifigkeit notwendige Querschnittserweiterung des Querbalkens auch zur Erhöhung der Torsionsfestigkeit genutzt werden. Diese Erfindung weist den Nachteil auf, daß sich der materielle und konstruktive Aufwand für das Portal mit der Erhöhung der beim Fräsvorgang wirkenden Biege- und Torsionskräfte sich ständig vergrößert.NC-controlled portal milling machines with Cartesian axes are general known. Vorteilhaft ist es, dass der Maschinentisch mittels eines Linearantriebes in X-Achsrichtung verfahrbar ist. Der Schlitten 5 ist auf gegenüberliegenden an den Rundbögen 1, 2 angebrachten Führungsbahnen 4 mittels Linearantrieb 9 verfahrbar. Auf dem Schlitten 5 ist die in Z-Achsrichtung verfahrbare Mehrachsbearbeitungseinheit 6 über einen Torquue-Motor 13 zwischen den Rundbögen 1, 2 schwenkbar angeordnet. Die Mehrachsbearbeitungseinheit 6 wird durch einen Frässchieber 10 mit einer Motorspindel 11 für ein Fräswerkzeug gebildet. Die Mehrachsbearbeitungseinheit 6 ist durch zwei im Schlitten 5 gegenüberliegend angebrachten Linearantriebe 14 in Y-Achsrichtung verfahrbar, wie Fig. 3 zeigt. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich durch eine hohe Biege- und Torsionsfestigkeit des Portals aus. Es wird eine Fünfseiten-Bearbeitung garantiert, was noch durch die Mehrachsbearbeitungseinheit unterstützt wird. Fig. 3 is a plan view of the carriage of the portal milling machine.
