Process for the fixation of temperature-indicating color pigments For fixation
temperature-indicating color pigments on the substrate at temperatures exceeding 350 °
an inorganic binder is required, as paints and resins and other substances
of an organic nature are no longer sufficiently stable at these temperatures.
It has been found that temperature-indicating color pigments are also good
at temperatures exceeding 350 ° can fix on its base if the
Color pigments are ground with a phosphate glass and mixed with urea resin
and this mixture mixed with alcohol or methanol as ready-to-spread, good
Adhesive paint is applied, with the urea resin at low temperatures
and at higher temperatures the phosphate glass as a binder for the color pigments
serves. Suitable phosphate glasses are those in which the silica is completely
or is partially replaced by aluminum phosphates, in which the ratio of
A1203: P205 is between approximately 2: 1 and 1: 1.5. Such glasses are in the
Patents 580,295, 589,035 and 596,472. Designed very favorably
the use of phosphate glasses, which have a yellowish content in boric acid (B203)
and optionally also zinc oxide or lithium oxide, as described in the patent
688147 are described.
The binder is generally used in an amount between about.
2 and 25% are added to the color pigment, but are more glossy, especially to achieve
Coatings, also higher additives, e.g. B. those of 50% and more phosphate glass indicated.
If high additives are used, it is advisable to prevent the
colored spread, the linear thermal expansion coefficient
of the glass to match that of the base. With the glasses mentioned you have
by changing the ratio A1203: P205: S'02 in the hand, the expansion coefficient
to vary between 20 and about 250 - 10--7, so the coatings are practical for everyone
make metal or ceramic substrates suitable.
Beispiel 1 Zur Herstellung einer temperaturanzeigenden Farbe wird
ein Gemisch aus 55 Gewichtsteilen T@i 02 (Anatasform), 29 Teilen Cr. 0, und
7,5 Teilen eines Phosphatglases der Zusammensetzung 23% A1203, 40,61/o P205, 4,9%
B203, 4% Zn O, 11% K20 und 16,5% Na20innig vermahlen und mit. 9 Gewichtsteilen eines
Harnstoffharzes vermischt.
1000° erreicht bzw. überschritten war, während das organische Bindemittel bereits
beim Erwärmen über 250° weggebrannt ist.Example 1 To produce a temperature-indicating paint, a mixture of 55 parts by weight of T @ i 02 (anatase form), 29 parts of Cr. 0 and 7.5 parts of a phosphate glass with the composition 23% A1203, 40.61 / o P205, 4.9% B203, 4% Zn O, 11% K20 and 16.5% Na20 were finely ground and with. 9 parts by weight of a urea resin mixed. The mixture, mixed with alcohol or methanol, gives a ready-to-paint color which, due to the urea resin content, adheres well after drying at room temperature. When heated, the paintwork changes from green to brown, indicating that the temperature has reached 1000 °. The phosphate glass as a binding agent gives the paint a sufficient adhesive strength to mark the places, even after cooling, where the transition temperature of 1000 ° has been reached or exceeded, while the organic binding agent has already burned off when heated to over 250 ° .
Example 2 A temperature indicating color for 715 ° is based on the following
Wise made: a mixture of 3 parts molybdate red and 1 part Ti 02 (anatase)
is finely ground and annealed at 550 °, the originally red color turning into yellow
transforms. 6 parts A1203 and 5 are added to 33 parts of this pre-annealed mixture
Parts of a ground phosphate glass of the following composition are added: Na20
15.61 / o, K20 13.4%, Zn 0 1.9%, A120, 18.7%, B203 2.2%, P205 30.90 / 0, S'02 9.4% and
Ti 02 7.9%. The mixture results after the addition of 8 parts of urea resins and with
Methanol or alcohol mixed a ready-to-paint color that after application
appears yellow. When the object coated with it is heated, the paint hits
at 715 ° into a dark olive green, which after cooling as a matt coat of paint
remains with good adhesive strength.
