Zusatz zum Patent 580Addition to patent 580
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 26. Mai 1932 ab Das Hauptpatent hat angefangen am 20. September 1930.Patented in the German Empire from May 26, 1932 The main patent started on September 20, 1930.
In the main patent 580 295 phosphate glasses are described, the aluminum oxide and Phosphorus pentoxide in the molar ratio ι: ι included.
It has now been found that glasses with very valuable properties are obtained if the composition of the batch is chosen such that the phosphoric acid content is greater than the ratio of P 2 O 5 : Al 2 O 3 = 1: 1 , but less than 3 P 2 O 5 are accounted for by 2 Al 2 O 3. These glasses have a high coefficient of expansion and a relatively low softening temperature. The presence of the larger amount of phosphoric acid does not affect the ultraviolet transmission. The use of larger amounts of phosphoric acid than specified should be avoided, as otherwise

The glasses can, for example, 40 to 70 percent by weight of aluminum orthophosphate, some of which can be replaced by silica, 10 to 25 percent by weight of alkalis, 5 to 25 percent by weight of boric acid (B 2 O 3 ), up to 15 percent by weight of excess phosphoric acid (P 2 O 5 ) ' and possibly divalent bases such as magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, barium oxide and zinc oxide.
Durch Schmelzen eines Satzes aus 57.88 Gewichtsteilen prim. Kaliumphosphat, 17,85 Gewichtsteilen Calciumcarbonat, 17,73 Gewichtsteilen Borsäure (H3BO3), 22,98 Gewichtstei- len Aluminiumoxyd und 9,44 Gewichtsteilen Phosphorsäure (H3PO4) erhält man ein gut ultraviolett durchlässiges klares Glas von folgender Zusammensetzung in glasbildenden Oxyden: 4"By melting a set of 57.88 parts by weight prim. Potassium phosphate, 17.85 parts by weight of calcium carbonate, 17.73 parts by weight of boric acid (H 3 BO 3 ), 22.98 parts by weight of aluminum oxide and 9.44 parts by weight of phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4 ) result in a clear, ultraviolet-permeable glass of the following composition in glass-forming oxides: 4 "
