Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1.
The MRI scanner is suitable for the display of the with the aid of contrast media human vessels, especially in angiography. However, around balloons or stents or others To be able to maneuver devices in the vessel, catheters with guide wires are required. On Guidewire is a long piece of wire, which has a pre-bent tip and with whose help can be used to guide a catheter through the vessels. Because of its metallic property it forms an electrical conductor which, when used in an MRI scanner, due to the high-frequency and magnetic field can be heated by current induction or voltage influence. There is the Risk of local patient burns.
The present invention attempts to solve this problem.
The solution to the problem is shown with reference to FIG. 1.
Fig. 1 Längsschnitt durch den erfinderischen Führungsdraht. Fig. 1 longitudinal section through the inventive guide wire.
Hier kann zum Beispiel Nickel-Titan oder eine andere flexible Titanlegierung eingesetzt werden.in Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of the inventive guidewire 1 is shown. This consists of a distal metallic part 2 and an MR-inert main part 4 and a connection 3 between the two parts. The front metallic part is used, which, as in the drawing, for. B. can be pre-bent by 90 ° to form a sufficiently stiff and thus steerable piece, which directs the guide wire through the vessels into defined vessel branches. The main part 4 of the guide wire must be created in such a way that it only holds and passes on the pressure applied from proximal to distal for advancing the metallic front piece 2 attached via the connection point 3 . The purpose of the front piece 2 is also to be able to be represented by its susceptibility artifact. The dimension of the wire must be created in such a way that this piece provides a sufficiently small artifact that does not outshine the vessels. The elasticity can correspond to that of a non-MR-compatible, normal guidewire designed for X-ray fluoroscopy or X-ray CT technology. For example, nickel titanium or another flexible titanium alloy can be used here.
The current or the induced voltage on this piece will now be so small due to the short length of this front piece 2 that neither substantial overheating of the surrounding tissue nor local combustion can occur in the vessels. Such a front piece 2 is therefore around 5 to 15 cm, typically 8 to 10 cm long, with a total catheter length of 60 to 200 cm. The diameter of the front piece is between 0.1 mm (neuro area) and 1.5 mm (large leg vessels). It is typically between 0.6 and 0.8 mm.
The long main part 4 of the guide wire is made of a plastic that withstands and transmits the guide pressure exerted from proximal to distal. The main part 4 is made of plastic so that neither current is induced nor voltage is influenced. This main piece 4 is a non-conductor or has a very high electrical resistance. This prevents overheating and thus local burn effects for the patient.
Such a guidewire can be used in conventional catheters for guiding. The main piece can have a length between 40 and 200 cm, typically the length is between 60 and 80 cm.
The connection point 3 can be created in a variety of ways. This can be an adhesive, or the main part 4 is squeezed at the connection point 3 over or on the distal front part 2 . Screw connections are also possible, and the main piece can also taper at its front distal part and open into the interior of the front piece 2 and be glued or crimped here.
